Wilt was by far the most dominant player ever.
He put up numbers like a regular NBA player would in a mid-level high school game.
It was absurd.

Shaq was almost as outstanding athletically but he wasn't a worker so his skill was middling.

Hakeem was special because of his skill. How much work he put in after coming into the league as a dunker.

I don't view David Robinson like Staubach... at all. Yes, service but other than that, no.
Robinson is much more like Troy Aikman. Painfully consistent and good at everything but not flashy in any sense.

Tim Duncan may be the best 4 of all-time. He is absolutely in that discussion. As is Dirk.

now I am torn.....I hate rooting for OKC to win anything.....but, I don't want them to get a top player that could make them better next season. But, since they will get throttled by GS anyway, I guess I could be ok with them making the playoffs......besides, I wouldn't mind seeing Philthy get better. I can't stand them, but I want Brown to have some success.

looks like that last playoff spot in the west is going down to the wire...

I would say the same about the east... but whomever ends up 8th is a stumbling mess anyway... although I would rather see paul George in the playoffs than the Nets.

well with the Memphis game going the way it is.....if the Spurs win Wednesday, they will be the 2 seed. Even though the Clippers would normally win the tie breaker, the Spurs winning their division, puts them ahead of the LAC. Of course, the Clippers may make that tied record a moot point of they lose tonight.

One of Atlanta weaknesses in my view is not having a true low post scorer and center. Kind of remind me of 94 sonics when they were the number 1 seed but lost because they didn't have a center and couldn't score from inside in half court.

If Hibbert shows up a little bit, wouldn't be surprised if Indiana pulls the upset.

Not a bad theory.....Hope you're wrong, but not a bad theory.

ATL walks through that series imho. Indy is just not real good.
The East is so bad I can't see any way CLE/ATL don't meet for the EC title unless the Bulls get some flashback Rose.

The West playoffs are gonna be so awesome.
Seriously, virtually every game will be must watch TV.
2-6 all basically the same record... crazy.

I don't know about that and I don't follow much basketball anymore. I do remember them playing last year and I don't think Indiana is/was that great of a team either but nothing really changed between the two teams except for Indiana losing Turner and Stephenson.

I think it will be a very ugly and non exciting 7 game series. Hibbert has to be one of the best players in the series, and George needs to be close to 100% for them to have a chance to beat Atlanta

That's just it tho. None of those things are really remotely likely.
George is playing about 15 mpg and likely isn't right til next year after a full off-season to work out.
Hibbert is an 11 point 7 rebound guy. He's just not much of a match up for ATL.
Horford and Millsap are both FAR better players than Hibbert. Hibbert likely spends the series in foul trouble trying to guard far better athletes.
And ATL can bring a guy like Elton Brand off the bench to bang inside defensively if need be.

I think it is 4-1 ATL.
To me that is the easist series of the playoffs to call and the most one-sided.

I must be missing something. How come I keep seeing people say okc can still make the playoffs if they win and spurs win??. They are 5 games behind the 8th seed and there's only 1 or 2 games left.

what are you looking at?
the pelicans and okc are tied record wise for the 8th spot, with the pelicans having the tiebreaker. both are 44-37

Spurs are in the 2-6 5 way mess. they have nothing to do with the pelicans EXCEPT that they play them the fijnal game.
Win and the Pelicans are in.
Both teams need the win, but Pelicans far more.

Pelicans lose and they open the door for OKC to steal the 8 seed and boot them out.

The West is very much a heartbreaking supermodel of a conference.

Despite a ridiculous number of injuries, the Rox finish with 56 wins and the #2 seed. :D
