you are sick in the head. one on one, they were basically even.
You're alone on that ledge lol

As a huge Spurs fan, it pains me, but I would give the edge to Hakeem over David. It's hard to say that as I've always considered Robinson to be the NBA's version of Roger Staubach.
That was the golden age for NBA centers, there were so many good ones during that time. If David or Hakeem played today, either would run roughshod over this league, there are no centers that could hope to slow either of them down.
Center Postion transitioned from Kareem, & Moses, to Pat, David, & Hakeem... followed up by Shaq... (I'd Say Tim, but he's more of a PF, and a great one at that)
Awesome time for centers was the 80's 90's & early 2000's.... but the position has shifted... the stretch 5, or the pick and roll 5 is what the game is now.... You would be fortunate to get a center who can score, move and rim protect...
Come on down Embiid!

No they weren't. David was very good but Hakeem was the best Center ever.........IMO of course.
Sometimes people forget just how deep the center position was back then, there was also Mourning, Rik Smits, Brad Daugherty, Mutombo, Mark Eaton. Good big man battles every night. In today's NBA, Hakeem or Robinson would be dominating like Godzilla tearing through Tokyo with no one to stop them. It's all about guards and wings now which isn't a bad thing, just miss some of those epic big man battles from time to time.
Absolutely... Rick Smits, Robert Parish, injured but effective six man Bill Walton (post Portland), Sabonis (who we never saw they best of), older ex MVP Bob MacAdoo, Ralph Sampson (who we also never seen the best of), Bill Cartwright (pre pat), Bill Lambeer, Jack Sikma(bucks version), Vlade Divac, Micheal Thompson.... All of these guys were at the least solid, several went to the All Star Game a few times..... But again this is a different game, the paint was closed for business back than. The game is much more free flowing now. You don't see the scoring post center with the enforcer power forward much these days....
it was absolutely ridiculous how many good to near great centers there were that never could even make the All Star game because of that depth.

Got to hankering for some old school center play and watched some of The Admiral's highlights
The Admiral, only one of five players to ever score 70+
He dropped 71 on the last game of the season to beat out Shaq for the scoring title that year
What else do The Admiral and The Dream have in common? They are two of only four players to record a quadruple double. The Dream is the only player to ever done it twice! One of the other two players to ever do a quad double, Alvin Robertson, also a San Antonio Spur.

exactly, in your opinion......
I like how you put HO above Russell, Wilt, Jabbar, David, Shaq......that is definitely a strong opinion you have.
No center that I watched or studied via tape (I used to have to watch wilt, jabbar, and russell when I was younger for work), had the skill level that Dream had except Jabbar. But again, I won't Judge the players I didn't watch in full games over and over...... And yes shaq was the rawest.... outside of 10 ft from the basket he wasn't much of a factor. He wasn't even as good as a rebounder as he could have been.
Shaq just used brute force, his skills were no where near Hakeems..........not even close.
He was the least skilled of the four, but the most imposing and powerful of the 4. He also didn't work as hard as the other four in my opinion.
But he was still dominant, and has four titles to show for it.
... it is top 18 protected.... so they would have to finish above NO, and Wash if my math is right....So okc loses its pick if it makes the playoffs?
