I like teasing @
Biggems because I've never met a Spurs fan like him... but speaking honestly, they have a shot to get back and win.... but they need Manu to be Manu one more time.... Age is starting to show. I think his effectiveness, along with how Alpha Kawhi is throughout the playoffs is key. The Clippers will be tougher than the Mavs because they can protect the rim, and they are athletic, and most of all experienced (don't sleep on Doc) But the Spurs has the fundementals edge, along with a more balanced team. No gimmes for anyone this year.... Even the Pelicans/ GS series gonna yield some gems....
Spurs are easily the most overrated team entering the playoffs.
They played phenomenal down the stretch but are not so talented as to be a favorite.
You have to give them mad respect as the best team over the duration of the last 20 years but this year they aren't the best team and might not be in the best 5. In the West that is a razor thin margin.
Pop is a coaching edge and they have tremendous bball IQ so you never count them out totally but the way the playoffs line up is a real problem for them. On the road against tough West foes.
The Clips are more physical and more athletic. They are bigger and stronger. They can win that series playing bully ball against Spurs players that can be beaten up and worn down: TP, Manu et al.
Splitter is a big factor and he is likely out the first couple games.
I seriously doubt the Spurs get out of round 1.
The Cavs certainly aren't worrying about the 6 seed in the West right now.
They'll use the first couple rounds to learn how to play playoff basketball and sharpen their games.
Then perhaps they'll get one challenge before the Finals.
Cavs would love the Spurs in the Finals. --Kawhi can guard LeBron or Kyrie but he can't guard both and no one else on the Spurs can either.
Shump, Marion, LeBron give them defenders to throw at guys in waves.
