The Mavs were winning last night in the 4th quarter but had no answer to the AAU pairing of Josh at PG tossing it in to Howard.
That was just old-fashioned size dominating, not youth or speed.
The Rockets hardly look young, though when Brewer is on the floor they do look very fast.

We'll see how things look in Dallas, the series is along ways from over.

Maybe, although the Mavs terrible transition D down the stretch in both games would seem to indicate that there were some tired legs out there. Bottom line is the Rockets appear to have the both the best and the second best players in the series in Harden and Howard. I wouldn't be shocked to see the series come back to Houston tied at 2, but 3-1 is more likely imo..

Howard was only in game 1 for 17 minutes and Harden was terrible last night.
In fact HOU finally pulled away when they benched Harden and let Josh Smith run the offense.
That was the move Dallas had no answer for and thus the big run that killed the game off.

Houston has been the better team by far.

But Dallas awaits and home refs are very different from road refs in the NBA.

If Harris and Parsons can't come back Dallas won;t have the horses to win this. If they do it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

7 game series are about holding serve at home and the Rox have done that. Now Dallas gets it shot.

The game remained close because Harden was woefully inefficient once the Mavs took away his left hand and Dallas focused on avoiding fouls. Dallas was fortunate HOU couldn't make lay ups for 3 quarters.

With that and 3s not falling for either team is stayed close until HOU found an offense with Smith and Howard.
It's a pretty standard answer in basketball to put a big at PG versus a zone. They can see and pass over the top of it.

And you could feel every AAU game Smith/Howard played together.
That got them both going and the Mavs had zero answers.

Dallas is hurting because two it's better 2way players are Parsons and Harris. The remaining guys are almost all 1 way players.

Aminu really locks down on defense but on offense he is a ball stopper.
Dirk kept the Mavs in the game last night with his rebounding but his offense from game 1 was no where to be found and he couldn't buy a bucket.

Love how Harden is never the best player on the floor come play-off time. As far as I'm concerned, he's over-rated.

I didn't see the game last night, but the first game, Parsons couldn't buy a bucket. The guy was useless and not sure if it continued into last night...

Parsons is out, probably for two weeks.

The Hawks showed why they are vulnerable tonight. They won, but the stretch run was not pretty. Teague and a bunch of set shooters on the court... No one could buy a shot... If it wasn't for a bailout foul call, and DWill playing like Paul Pierce was whispering in his ear... Nets would have won. I was surprised the Hawks coach took Schroder out late in the game... he was one of two people on the court who could breakdown the defense. Meanwhile his substitution Carroll was building a house. That lead shrunk faster than a shrinky dink in the oven when they took Schroder out.

Damian Lillard looking like he doesn't want Lamarcus Aldridge around next year. Talk about a disappearing act.

well it's on now......let's see if the Spurs can come back tonight and get a W. They stunk it up in game one.

I think we can agree that it was a miserable fail by Mark to bring in Rondo.
He tried.
Ended up wrecking the team.

No silver lining attempt at all.
In fact it is the opposite.

DH was a non-factor in game 1 really playing only 17 minutes and Harden was trash in game 2... yet HOU still was easily the better team each game.

All that said, at least we aren't watching the Sixers win 10 games a year.
Be wary of stones in glass houses and all that.

DH was a factor in fame 1. He got 11pts, 5 boards and 5 blocks in those 17 minutes. He would have played more if they needed him. He looked like his old self dominating the inside game defensively and offensively.

He was dominant last year too in the playoffs, practically a 180 from the regular season.

You making fun of the Sixers? Even i make fun of the Sixers... I broke all the windows in that house when iverson left...

Houston just looks like the team who has more bounce, more speed, and more talent to my eye.... It's only two 2-0... but losing Chandler Parsons, and Rondo taking his ball and going home, doesn't help..... lets see how resourceful they can be..... And I love Dirk, and I do mean love, but man he's looking old...

Spurs not turning the ball over, not many Clip breakouts.... allows for more efficient ball, Spurs like pace.... Old man Duncan is balling tonight... and Patty Mills is hitting big shots again.

DH looked great but 17 minutes is really nothing. And it wasn't score that kept him glued to the bench(until mid 4th quarter) but the foul situation.

Put another way, if DH had played 17 minutes in game 2 HOU probably loses.

He has easily looked the part of the most dominant presence in this series but that only matters if he plays.
If he plays at this level and get 28 mins a night it will be insanely tough for Dallas to win 2 games much less the series.

But if he is on the sideline in foul trouble winning becomes very doable.
