wow spurs fans have gone insane. Trying to claim they even belong in the same conversation as that Celtic Dynasty.

But it is fun to watch them; sort of like the Romo haters when faced with vast amounts of stats proving them wrong.

Nice contribution, as usual.

do you mean last 20 years? or you mean team of the oughts and team of the teens?

those are least realistic time periods.

The team of the 90's was quite easily the Bulls.
The 00's is far more close to call. The team with the most titles that decade is the Lakers.
The teens has seen 4 NBA Finals all attended by the Heat. They have the highest win percentage and most Titles and most Finals trips.

My team is the Mavs and they won at least 50 games and made the playoffs 12 straight seasons. That is consistent quality basketball. but it wasn't elite or transcendent. The 12 year number is something that matters only to a Mavs fan.

That's nice.

No team has had more success over the last two decades than the Spurs. They are the Gold standard for an NBA franchise. Period. End of story.

Stein's reporting Boozer to the Lakers. Wonder if Kobe's head explodes the first game Boozer decides to mail it in. Could be fun to watch.

Nobody has compared the 1999-2014 Spurs to the 1957-1974 Celtics other than the people trying to say that the Spurs aren't anywhere near the Celtics. They won 11 of 13 titles, they dominated the league of that day. Nobody is denying that, nor touching that mark. .

When somebody says "They've had the best 17 year stretch EVER in NBA History. Meaning NOBODY has ever done that," they are comparing the Spurs to everybody in NBA history over any given 17 year stretch. And it's not just the Celtics, the Lakers had some unbelievable success over several long windows. There may have been a non playoff year here and there, but far more title appearances and at least 1 more championship depending on which window.

Just read a surprisingly good article on Bleacher Report talking about trading Wiggens for Love. It said how Irving is one of the worst perimeter defenders in the NBA and Love is one of the worst rim protectors. You can cover up one bad defender, or even two, but not if they don't complement each other. If you have an awful perimeter defender, you can't also have an awful rim protector. It also said how two of the other 5 worst rim protectors in the NBA are Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varajeo. Their defense would be historically bad outside of LeBron. I don't know if they could overcome that. It's hard to score in the playoffs so you can't win a title giving up 110 points a game. They'd be better off keeping Wiggens and using that extra money (since he's on a cheap rookie contract) to sign some veteran rim protectors.

I think everybody kicked his dog.
don't hate dogs; just never understood the appeal of something usually pretty dumb.

bark at nothing - have to take them out to potty- slobber all over you - really just do not understand why so many love them.

just realized this pretty much described spurs fans...

Like cats much better. Smarter and independent and need nowhere near the care.

spurs homers starting to get defensive; I guess their stupidity is becoming apparent even to them. Which is saying a lot.

I'm not a fan either but I don't hate them and look to discredit what they've done.

Even though I have no allegiance to that team I admire them. They built something special down there in San Antonio.

Agree with this wholeheartedly.
Not sure why their fan base feels that isn't good enough.
