Spltter traded to Atlanta to gain cap space.. that was the chain reaction that had Carroll move to Toronto apparently

Danny Green got 45mil over 4yrs from the spurs (wow!)

Kinda surprised at these deals. I can understand the Nets signing second level FAs but not for multi years. Seems like the Nets would want to save cap, like every other team, in preparation for next year. Guess not.

Simple answer..

ITS THE NETS:D

Seriously, I think they would be happy being playoff "hanger-on-ers" for the next few years, because they are trying to build a fan base, and pay for that beautiful arena.

I saw this earlier. Was kinda wondering what that means for Aldridge?

I don't know if it's "official" yet... I don't think anyone signed papers .. because they have bird rights on those guys.

I don't think any signings can be official until FA period actually begins this evening.

What are you expecting?

What are you hoping for?

Lakers are still open to trading Russell for the right deal.

SA won't sign any of their own officially until they sign Aldridge(if)..... than they are free to go over the cap to sign their own... so they agree in principle

Monroe will sign with NY, I think... wouldn't be surprised to see Afflalo in NY as well.

But NY is pretty much baked. I'm talking the big time FAs and what do you hope to see for the Sixers?

hahaha.. Sixers will have summer league camp training...

I want to see D. Jordan and Pierce with LAC..... I'm kinda rooting for them to get over the hump... I like C paul... and really liked Blake's evolution.
I also hope Aldridge signs with LA instead of SA

I know texas fans would not be happy with either scenario.

I think the only way Aldridge signs with the Lakers is if they can also get a guy like Jordan. To do that, I think the Lakers would have to cut Kobe and spread his cap hit across multiple years (they could resign him later if they wanted to) or, get Aldridge to agree to a sign and trade deal with Portland. If the Lakers can't figure out how to sign another top talent to go along with Russell/Randle and Clarkson, then I don't see Aldridge going to LA. I think he lands elsewhere.

Would the Sixers consider trading one of their Centers for a guy like Russell?

I think the Sixers want to see what they have in Embiid, & Okafor. Once value, and level of health is established, one will get traded.
I hope they never trade Noel, not because he's a "superstar", but because he's really unique.

I can see another scenario of LA getting Aldridge... Robin Lopez would allow Aldridge to play PF, and they are friends with chemistry. So, signing Robin. Although I think its a long shot.
I think D Jordan may bolt... I think offensively he thinks more of himself than others... I think him getting the ball may be a stipulation in him signing...

Everyone keeps mentioning Clarkson... He still has a lot to prove from what I saw last year, thought he was ok at Mizzou... His numbers were inflated... but as a fan, you probably watched every game, so you have more insight.

Kevin Love is back... 5years.. 110
LBJ will be signing soon...
TT soon...

They need a few more offensive pieces, more creative ball handlers.... LBJ gonna have to give up a bit of the ball handling duties....

I actually think the best big out there for LA is Gasol but I don't think they have a shot in hell to get him. If the Lakers could get a guy like Jordan, I they could then role with Jordan, Randle, Russell, Clarkson, Kobe and keep whomever else they wanted on their current roster or, they could go out and have room to sign other FAs. That would also work well for them with Love because I don't believe Love is leaving Cleveland this year but I think he's gone next. I think Love's best move is to sign a one year deal in Cleveland and then leave next year when he can get more money. That would then allow the Lakers to have the defensive guy they really need in Jordan and the Post guy in Love, plus a good core of players to compete in the West. Next year, Kobe is either gone or he's playing for a lot less money, which allows the Lakers to maybe sign two Max guys next year.

Clarkson is a good player. The thing about him is that he can play Point or Two Guard. He offers a lot of flexibility so if you have a guy like Kobe, who can no longer play big minutes but will likely still be able to score, a guy like Clarkson is valuable to you. He can get good minutes subbing for Kobe and probably for Russell and provide valuable minutes. Once Kobe is gone, he's probably going to be a guy who can step in and play well for the Lakers. He won't be Kobe but he will play well for them. I like him a lot. He has to get better defensively but I think he can get better. Right now, strength is the biggest weakness for him IMO.

Edit:

Well, so much for Love coming back to L.A.

Looks Like Tyson Chandler is going to the Suns, they trotted him into their meeting with Aldridge...lol....smart.
as expected, Brandon Knight got 5yrs 70mil from the Suns
Amir Johnson to the Celts (12mil a year!!!!! 2 yr 24)

Mavs better hope DJ signs... or else they will be in the Robin Lopez market.

Chandler is a little long in the tooth but he's good sign for the Suns I think. I don't think they get Aldridge but you never know?

Aldridge is going to the Spurs. I think with the Splitter trade, they can now afford to offer him a Max deal. He would be crazy not to go to the Spurs if they can offer him a Max Contract.

TC to Suns is "OK" for Mavs. Will reportedly be a S&T that brings BWright back and also creates Mavs cap space. The TC cap hold was 20m.
His trade will leave with a max slot (plus a lot more depending upon the year 1 BWright number) for DAJ. Because DAL and PHX are under the cap the trades don't need to match.
Lost ability to S&T TC to Clips which wanted him (close friend of CP3) if they lost DAJ.

Aldridge to SAS and DAJ to DAL seem likely.
LAL signs no one as I expected.

Once all the agreements are made there will be a few a days worth of maneuvering to fit it all under caps.

DAL all in on DAJ as noted. But also are the favorites for his services.
