NBA playoffs Mavs vs Spurs

Man, some big talk above from Spurs fans. I guess you have the right to so far this series. Just try not to act like 2 year olds w/ the insults (gay [now edited to primadonnas] ...really, thats the best you got??)

I'll agree with one thing - the Mavs have the tendency to be soft, and in the 3rd quarter tonight, the refs let the game get physical and somewhat out of control and the Mavs lost it.

The one difficult thing with calling them soft for me is the fact that when they try to get physical and push back, the Spurs end up on the FT line. This is what got the Spurs back into the game in the 3rd - and even Spurs fans should admit there was about a 5 min. stretch in the 3rd quarter where the Mavs got hosed, lost their cool and really waited too long to gain their composure back.

Heck, even my wife, who grew up near SA and loves the Spurs got fed up with it. I'm a life long Mavs fan, and she a Spurs fan so it's always fun come playoff time - but the last two games have been different for her. This hasn't been the normal BS from officials...this is borderline Heat series calls.

The Mavs had 22 fouls called against them and the Spurs had 20.

Both teams had exactly the same number of points come from the free throw line... 18.

I wouldn't exactly say that this game was decided by foul calls.

P.S. Your wife is humoring you. ;)

It's not the number of foul shots that I was talking about. The Mavs had shot more FT's after the 1st half - and then in the 3rd, it's like the refs made a point to even up that total, and this is what caused the game to almost get out of control.

The Spurs would punch, Mavs would punch back and get a foul called - The Spurs would punch, Mavs would punch back and get a foul called.... on so on. It stopped being a game were the refs let them play, and turned into one team being able to do what it wanted. Dallas got frustrated and didn't regain their composure. That was the turning point of the game.

As far as the wife - wouldn't put it past her...

Dirk went to the line for doing this.

He should send Dirk flowers or something, he looks better in the after shot

Dirk shot free throws for doing this.

Can't watch the clips at work, but I see it's says manu-nose - So I'm assuming they are clips of the elbow to nose shot?

Its basketball karma for embarassing himself on the court so many times

Were all those championships that same Karma?

And if so ..... what does that say about the Mavs?

The Mavericks will never win a Championship as long as Dirk is the best player on the team.

Been saying that for quite some time. I thought I was wrong back in 2005 but the soft and lack of a killer instinct that has plagued the Mavericks under his leadership appeared once again.

Dirk is an extremely good player but his type of "game" and his "mentality" was never going to win you a championship.

Once, just once, I would like to hear a basketball fan admit when their team is getting beat by a superior opponent. I don't think any team has ever lost a basketball game fair and square...those daggum refs are always out there picking favorites.

a-freakin-men. and every fanbase is guilty of it.

I was pretty much the only Spurs fan I knew back in 2006 who thought the Mavs beat us fair and square. Everyone else was on the refs jock, but the fact was, we weren't good enough. Not on the court when it mattered, anyway.

I think most of us can agree that NBA officiating does in fact suck, however, I would never put the blame on losing a 7 game series on the refs. That is weak.

So after 24 hours you did not even show one Gif of manu actually flopping.

(Should have been easy .... he does it just like every other NBA player)

There is no way Dirk should have been called for that hit on Manu's nose. You're a blind homer if you say otherwise.

/I'm not a mavs or spurs fan

I did not say he should have been.

The other guys where saying the Mavs were not getting any fowl shots.

I showed them how he got a foul shot even after he broke the other guys nose.

That is all ..... Dirk was not even looking at Manu when he splattered his nose.

That didnt take long

Yea just 24 hours later :laugh2:

And again ...... if you watched your video (which I actually doubt) you will see that most of the fowls were he hit the ground were legit.

Much more than 7 ' tall Dirk getting knocked down by Parker.

Bet that was not a foul either huh.

:laugh2:
