Happening just like I thought so far.

Suns playing with a lot of emotion ..... and Pops studying them.

I can see where you feel strongly about him not getting a ring, cause you're a Spurs fan and him getting one this year would necessarily mean your team wouldn't.... but he does deserve a ring.

Yes he does.

GO SUNS.

LOL. Our bench can throw a lot of different looks. Popovich won't figure our team out this year.

Our bench is MILES AND MILES better than it was in previous years. They actually play some damn good defense too.

Well if the Spurs would simply make their layups, they win game 1. They missed around 12 layups tonight. But this has been a problem all year, and really for the last couple of years. The Spurs get great looks and get to the basket, only to not be able to convert within 2 ft.

Now THIS is funny.

And if the Suns had not missed some of their shots as well...

why do people twist words. The Spurs missed a bunch of jumpers and 3s....LOW % SHOTS

The Suns did miss a lot of shots, but also shot a higher %...they also owned the 3pt line. The Suns didnt miss that many layups....at least not near as many as the Spurs.

What is the most frustrating...when the Sun get fouled, they seem to make the basket, and then the FT. When the Spurs get fouled, they seem to miss the basket, and are lucky to make 1 of 2 FTs. If it is Duncan, 0 of 2 FTs.

My beef is with layups. I have been frustrated for the last couple of years, cause the Spurs continue to shoot themselves in the foot cause they cannot seem to convert at point blank range.

So forgive me for holding my team to a certain standard. I dont expect them to make FTs...I dont expect them to make a ton of 3s.....especially with Mason, Bonner, and Jefferson struggling. However, I do expect them to be able to convert a flippin layup.

Let me understand this...

Because I thought something was funny on the excuse they lost because they missed shots is twisting words? If I came in here and stated that for whatever type of shot was missed and if we had made it, we would have won, you guys would have had a field day with that comment.

Layups, free throws, etc are all part of the game.

Hos, you are better than that. Why would the NBA rig it so the boring Spurs beat the exciting Suns? They wouldn't. SA is the team that loves to throw pie in the face of Stern...a small market team that goes out and beats up on the big market teams and doesnt care about the NBA ratings.....just OBrien trophies.

BTW, maybe if the Suns played defense half as good as they played offense, they might have won a series from the Spurs since 2003.

Oh Goody .... I get to have a rumble with Hos.

There is no way the NBA wanted the Spurs to win that series years ago.

None.

Spurs were just the better team.
I forgot all about this thread. Pretty much the same way I forgot about the NBA a few years ago. I don't even know how many years ago it was. I was a Lakers fan. Had no dog in this fight. Hated the Suns, and hated the Spurs. I'd have to say I was rooting for the Spurs because I met several of them when my nephew got married and we stayed at the same Marriott Hotel. Good guys.

I don't care who anyone thinks the NBA wanted to win. Who was more interesting. Who was better ratings. I care that the actions of the NBA fixed the series.

I have not watched an NBA game since that night and I honestly don't know that I ever will again. I wrote to Rod Thorn. He wrote back. He couldn't change my mind. No one else will either. The actions of the NBA sickened me. It still does.

I don't care who wins this series, or the next, or the Championship. That series ruined a game I really loved.

Good game by the Suns. They didn't panic every time the Spurs closed the gap.

I also like the fight the Spurs showed. Many times, when they get down double digits, they'll fold up for the night, but not last night.

I think whoever wins game 2 wins this series.

i dont think so, the spurs only need to win 1 game in phoenix. even if phoenix loses its not the end of the world, game 5 winner will most likely win the series

I don't know what makes this series more fun- hearing blind homerism or claiming the Spurs are actually going to win the next four games.

I agree he's a great coach but I still doubt he'll find a way to figure us out. Start Tony Parker next game, we don't care. :)

Yea ..... why would we think that.

2002-2003 Spurs beat Suns First Round 4-2 (in 6 games)
2004-2005 Spurs beat Suns Conference Finals 4-1 (in 5 games)
2006-2007 Spurs beat Suns Conference Semi-Finals 4-2 (in 6 games)
2007-2008 Spurs beat Suns First Round 4-1 (in 5 games)
2009-2010 ?

Its crazy to think the Spurs would beat the Suns in 4 or 5 games ..... :laugh2:
