NBA Playoffs thread

Mavs would have needed game 4 or 5 to stand a chance Spurs will close it out in 6 now. Nice to see them put up a fight though

Or not

Game 7 here we come!

great game. i had mavs by 5 but the late 3 did me in there.
will take the win anywa.

looking forward to game 7!

Wow, i am not saying the refs in the NBA are still fixing games, but.........Aldridge has been getting all of the calls on both ends. The same exact plays on Howard are let go but not on Aldridge

What's funny is, go watch the replay of the 2nd to last play w/ 1.4 seconds on the clock. The frickin Spurs had 6 players on the court. Thank gosh the Mavs pulled it out...I would have been furious if they got away with that. Ellis and Crowder were pointing it out to the officials, and just like the rest of the game, they blew them off.

Who cares about the Mavs spurs?

Blazers!!!!!!

Lillard is on the fast track to NBA elite PG status. He plays the game well beyond his experience.

I dont care If the mavs get sweapt next round If they win game 7. i moved to South tx a few months back and its full of mouthy spurs fans down here

can't wait for 2:30!!!
Game 7s are awesome.

Here's some trivia that you're probably already aware of...

The Mavericks have never lost a game 7 in a series with Dirk in the lineup.
Not once.

His career average in game 7s is near the top in NBA history at about 28 ppg. BTW, he's even averaged 15 rebounds in those games.

He's older now, but there is a chance he blows up today.

So the NBA's two winningest teams over the last decade face off once again.

GO MAVS

Can the "Old" guys keep up the pace? Spurs up 44-25...

Gratz to the Spurs.
You finish as a 1 seed and you earn home court for a reason.

All that said they got all they wanted in this series.
Mavs have a lot to work with this off-season.
Get Dirk's cap number down and find a stud Guard defender.

Good series.
The better team advanced, but the Mavs made them work for it..

Oh hell yes, Spurs win.

Whew!!! Dallas sure did give us more than we wanted. They played a great first 6 games. Today, they had nothing for the Spurs.

I am upset with the officiating in the series. There were a ton of late whistles on both teams in every game (to call the foul after the other team has secured the defensive rebound and is out in transition is stupid). They called a lot of weak stuff and let a lot of the really physical stuff go. They called some flagrants that I felt were regular fouls, and called some others regular that should have been flagrants. You could see the absolute frustration from players, coaches, and fans alike.

One last note about the refs..........just because Dirk falls down, doesn't mean he is fouled. He trips over his own feet and Mills gets called for the foul. That wasn't the only instance, just a very good example.

I am happy Blair is done for the season. Maybe if he had played with this much passion and intensity for us, he would have seen more postseason playing time. He is a FA this offseason, I feel Dallas should try to bring him back, along with Dirk and Harris. Let Carter and Marion walk.

Well enough about the first round, it is now over. Bring on the Blazers. It will be a very tough matchup for the Spurs. Lillard and Aldrige go off against us. Williams, Matthews, and Batum never seem to miss a 3. Lopez seems to grab every rebound. One thing we need to do is exploit their lack of depth. Attack early and often and get them in foul trouble. Then use our depth as an advantage. Also, we cannot continue to give so many wide open, uncontested 3s. Dallas hurt us bad with them, Portland will knock us out.

I pick the Spurs in 6.

GO SPURS GO

I'm so sick of the NBA and NHL right now. First my Stars, now my Mavs. Congrats to San Antonio and their fans. I'm done with these sports for a while. Football needs to get here soon.

I'm actually ok with the Mavs taking the Spurs to seven. The Spurs weren't really tested at all last year in the first three rounds. Swept two, and won the other one in 6 (although, GSW was never a real threat). It's nice for them to be pushed to their limit early. I know a lot of people haven't watched a lot of the Spurs, but game 7 was actually closer to how they've been playing this last month over the first six. They've been dominant with ball movement, transition points and shooting from 3. Hopefully this gets them back in their groove. But, the Portland series is going to be a slugfest.

Unlike last round, where there was never a doubt in my mind we would eventually win the series, I'm very worried about this one. The blazers always play us well and have the best record vs the spurs of any team in the league the last handful of years. I'm actually thinking we lose this series. Hope I'm wrong
