Do this + put a junction in for him to payback 25% of his 16 million dollar signing bonus that he's probably already blown through. He'd come back asap if that happened.
Or maybe he'd just go to the bank to take out the loans to pay it back.

Did Andrew Luck not honor his contract? Should be look down on players for choosing not to play now?

It’s all meaningless since contracts in the nfl are essentially just 1 year deals since owners cut players with years left on the contract. People want to pretend is the bad guy for doing the exact same thing the owners do.

let me guess...the owners have the right to terminate the contract....yet somehow this isn’t viewed by some as no honoring the contract? How’s that again?

how is terminating the contract that has several years and millions owed honoring the owners commitment
He did not and was obligated to pay back part of the signing bonus but the Colts did not enforce that penalty written into the contract.

Yeah the bank is gonna give a young unemployed male with no degree/limited work history a 4+ million dollar loan just because "he's good for it".

His management team is only like 15 athletes all of which either retired or majority late round picks so I doubt his agent is happy about cleaning his bank account/credit line just for 1 athlete (25% of his signing bonus + fines could reach 5 million dollars easily)

What you miss though is that this attitude is reactionary. If fans want to play the "we create the demand that make your jobs possible" card every time the "get out of line" according to fans wishes, then you can't be surprised that this attitude comes back in the opposite direction. Nothing players do will make fans comfortable enough so if the object of your operation runs afoul of some ingrate fan's comfort level, well, something's gotta give and human nature states that it's not your own operation. If fans are never going to be happy with what you do, you might as well get super paid more while attempting to ignore the noise. Fans are free to take up being a fan of soccer but we all know that's not going to happen despite the drama queen huffing you get every now and then. Players realize this and get theirs anyway. So who stews in the end?
Well,ya know what Marcus? And ,I couldn't fully guarantee it, but if the #21 would've manned out/ shouldered his appointed load for another season? And then pulled this hold-out?
It would be 8 out of every 10 Feudians in supportive sympathy for his hold-out maneuver then ,but, when ol' PAPPY ELLIOTT spouted off back in March or April of this year, showing his card's as to him very likely as to being the mastermind of this prematurely enacted lame brained ploy? Well, that kinda' pretty much set me off on this scorched earth/total war tangent & lifelong grudge o_O

I wonder if the numbers are really close but the deal is getting held up on offset language for adverse behaviors related to suspensions and his guarantees? Or is it standard that a suspension voids some or all guaranteed money?

the 2 parties have taken Sunday off from the negotiations. They will resume, and likely finalize the deal Monday...according to multiple reports. Very good chance he will be at practice come Tuesday morning.
