I am just about at that point. I am nearly done watching NFL games outside of Cowboys games. It's sad. Sunday used to be a big day. Clean up leaves in the morning while smoking something on the pellet grill. Later, friends/family come over and watch football while eating great food. We don't do much at the house anymore as we tend to be with our Harley family now riding out and about. Anymore, Saturday and college ball is more entertaining.
Great post. So true.

For me it’s the annual dysfunction that has worn me down. Always a new wrinkle of dysfunction too. Like the McCarthy lame duck move. Jerry is just a terrible person. The paternity stuff??? Guy is a total dirtbag. Stephen? Nepo baby GM in waiting. Guy will be worse than Jerry. You can already see he is cheap and super arrogant. The Dak signing was so stupid. They absolutely did not need to pay him that much. Hurts the cap big time and Dak will never win a big game. The league and their shenanigans piss me off to no end. Gooddell is a moron and they clearly hate their true fan base. Forcing the international stuff, increasing the number of games, and Thursday night football but preaching player safety. Clown show.

On the bright side I love hockey and am back into the Knicks. So I get my sports fix. Sundays are free for me so doing way more fishing. It’s a win. Screw Jerry and his dysfunctional clown show.

Onward and upward.

This is a throw away year, for the jones boys. They dont care about this season.
They may want it to be bad so they can not get any backlash from firing McCarthy who up till now had 3 12-5 seasons in a row.
I think that is main reason they didnt fire him after GB game.

Also it seems they are making it hard for MM to have a good season this season with everything they did and didnt do.
Also if cowboys finish with bad record, that means higher draft picks for for 25.

the no spend this year is I think mainly to make it easy to sign micah for 40-45 mil lol
Will they buy some good FA ?? ........I doubt it lol.
Will they get a good new HC, I doubt it lol.

The focus is for 2025, and this year they dont care what happens..... or about the fans that waited all off season for this mess.
Good post Dandy.......you nailed it all

I was feeling like this before the season started but I was figuring this was the last season with Dak and we can start our rebuild, but when Jerry doubled down and extended him, I lost all hope in future season too.

There will be some awful bad teams we will be fielding for the immediate future and beyond!

Lucky you’re not near old enough to remember the 88 and 89 season. The Cowboys won only 4 games in two seasons. You fans who come claiming you don’t care anymore about how the team is playing are just lying to yourselves or you wouldn’t be posting about the team.
2 seasons? Oh well...everything is alright then!

If 88-89 is what it will take...I'm game.

I think the biggest issue is there seems to be no sense of urgency anywhere in the Cowboys organization.

Ownership doesn't seem concerned which means the rest of the front office is not concerned.

The coaches don't seem concerned (what happened to angry Zimmer?). I don't know if that's because McCarthy assumed he was gone when he didn't get a contract extension last season or he simply realizes no one above him cares about winning as much as he assumingly does.

The players don't seem concerned, which is really disappointing as a fan. This is especially true with players who got their money.

Where are the players angrily stating, "We need to fix this now!"? Instead, we get, "It's all good. We will figure it out eventually" types of comments.

It just seems like the only people that care that the Cowboys are playing poorly are some of the Cowboys fans, and even the number of upset fans is declining as more fans are becoming more apathetic to the losses.
We're getting the same old same old...dumpster fire of a clown show and "we'll be okay we believe in us HOLD YOUR COURSE!"

Honestly, Jerry Jones has made me become disinterested in my favorite team.

I don't even know who's not practicing this week.

Is Micah?

It doesn't even matter.

I already know the 49ers are going to destroy us because they have something called scheme and creativity on offense.

McCarthy's idea of a scheme is to have all the Receivers run 7 yard curl routes.

Jerry Jones is losing me as a fan.

When someone asks me now if the Cowboys are playing, I say, "Who cares"
One door closes, another one opens! Enjoy the freedom…

I am! But I’d rather watch a team “try” and lose, over this team of primadonna‘s. All they care about is their fat bank accounts and social media.

Yes, and we're about to eclipse the 30th anniversary of "any one of 500 coaches could take this team to the Super Bowl"

Wow, hasn't Jerry paid enough of a price for that comment? Sell the team! The rest of us are tired of watching the dues for that comment above, collected during the first round of the playoffs. Dallas likely won't even get there this year.
He'll never sell and will never stop being the face of the franchise. Never. Why? Because he loves being a rock star sans the talent.

Honestly feel the same way, if we win I don't even care, if we lose it doesn't even bother me. During the game I barely cheer because I know something is bound to happen

:hammer:

Exactly.
This is the fist time in my life that I actually want the Cowboys to lose every game from here on.

Whatever it takes for the narcissist SOB to sell the team.
That’s what I want.

The team needs to be rid of the cancer of the Jones family.
Thought it was just me that felt this way this season! Don't try to win just tank like Lawrence!!

I hate to agree but I'm getting really close to this sentiment. I'm not excited about games anymore. It's like there's no outcome that serves the team. Losing sucks but winning about half their games isn't gonna change anything. We're in football limbo.

I tend to agree. I agreed with the thread title "Never been this disengaged with the Cowboys during a season" which is why I clicked on the thread, but to say you don't even care if they are playing and then you're on here posting how much you don't care? Sounds dramatic to me.

Back to the title, this team gives us nothing to be excited about. At least if we were in a little of a rebuild mode we could see the plan. But, they are stuck in neutral with a driver who can't drive a stick shift IMO. I'll still watch, follow and root and that's why I'm here. If it gets to the point where I don't feel this way, the first thing I'll do is stop coming to a Cowboys forum. The posts I laugh at the most are the ones where people come on here just to tell us they aren't coming on any more like it's the Kareem farewell tour...

When the owner is more worried about his actions being questioned by the media than actually admiting that the results so far are disappointing and that they need to do a better job, I see no accountability whatsoever from him which to me means there is no sense of urgency with him or the front office.

I said during the off-season the Cowboys would likely use 2024 as a reset year and that's what they have done.

At some point, the Cowboys will stop getting Game of the Week and prime time games, and when that happens, maybe .. and that's still a big maybe .. Jerry will start to care about winning again.
Exactly

While I'm not a fan of McCarthy, however he never had Aaron Rodgers running 7 yd curl routes. His offense is limited by this quarterback. As was Kellen Moore, and Scott Linehan.
Even Jerry is aware, which is why I cannot understand why he offered this contract, it made no sense at the time, and will make less by seasons end.

I can't help but think Jerry has some large plan, so I'm just watching this season play out.

So for now, I'm taking the Morpheus approach, the answers are coming.
I think Jerry has water on the brain. Age & Alcohol has officially set in. There is no plan
