Yup.But it doesn't suck It leaves it open this guy is never gonna be good enough to command market money He might command a nice salary you know for a new deal but you don't want to have to be on the hook for his contract It's better that he's here on a one year prove it deal You can either cut ties or sign them to a reasonable contract..
This isn't George Pickens we're talking about This is a full tier or more below he is not commanding big money and there's no reason for him to leave once he's here if he's playing well they offer him a fair deal...
I want some of those pocket presents please lol j/kYeah I was looking at the play and that one he was talking about with number 55 on the pass rush and how the quarterback sidestepped it went to the right and had a big play That is exactly the same play that we saw in practice or camp or whatever it was in the scrimmage when Von Miller did that to Steel everyone said that would have been a sack no it wouldn't prescott saw it stepped up stepped to the side and hit a 25 yarder on the sideline so yes it does happen if you have a quarterback has pocket presents he can make up for some of them tackle issues..
But yes a lot of that video it shows that Jones needs some work but not as bad as being advertised so we will see what Adams can do with him and Riley can help him out...
But as a swing tackle I'm comfortable with him 'cause he's a veteran to come in and help..

He's not a swing. Smith moves to LT if there is an injuryYeah I was looking at the play and that one he was talking about with number 55 on the pass rush and how the quarterback sidestepped it went to the right and had a big play That is exactly the same play that we saw in practice or camp or whatever it was in the scrimmage when Von Miller did that to Steel everyone said that would have been a sack no it wouldn't prescott saw it stepped up stepped to the side and hit a 25 yarder on the sideline so yes it does happen if you have a quarterback has pocket presents he can make up for some of them tackle issues..

No one is trying to minimize the cost of the trade. It's just taking a realistic view of it. Cowboys will have a late 3rd. The Stealers will have a early/mid 4th. The difference will be maybe 20 spots. We gave them our 3rd and 6th. They gave us their 4th. Draft slots haven’t been determined yet, so trying to minimize the cost to support the trade is weak sauce.
Apparently Dallas is a better franchise than Pittsburgh. Imagine saying that with a straight face.“Moved up half a round”? We gave them our 3rd and 6th. They gave us their 4th. Draft slots haven’t been determined yet, so trying to minimize the cost to support the trade is weak sauce.
When we sit on our hands for the entire third round and watch good players get scooped up, I doubt you will feel great about this trade
2027 is set to be the deepest draft in years, and our cupboard is looking pretty bare.
If Jones pans out, I will give you your props. A starting OT is more valuable than a 3rd round pick.
But if he turns out to be what he has shown himself to be since coming into the league, we just shorted ourselves in a big way in a deep draft and still have issues at OT
Hence why I've stated before on why they didn't just wait till cutdown day before giving up this kind of draft capital. No way he was going to make the 53. It's the continued arrogance to believe that JJ/SJ are smarter than everyone else in picking medically compromised players to gain an advantage in a deal hoping the player returns to their previous level of performance - and in your analysis, that thought is flawed since he wasn't that great before the injury. JJ/SJ also think they can duplicate the Pickens deal when Pitt was thinking the opposite to reoup for the bad deal they did with Pickens lol. Time will tell though... hoping he proves me wrong.and the “film review” is him playing against uber drivers in the final preseason game
More objective film review of his play in actual NFL games, before spinal fusion, show a more balanced view, and it’s not great.
Teams don’t give up on top 15 draft pick OTs who are still on their rookie contract if they are even average performers.
By that standard should we have ignore college tape and if so how do we evaluate college players?and the “film review” is him playing against uber drivers in the final preseason game

I wonder how many 6th rounders make the team? I have no idea, but it seems that more free agent rookies make the team?I was down on trade because of his injury and conditioning. It just doesn’t look like a win now move. Honestly, his past performance calls into question if he’ll ever be a quality tackle.
Also, people are getting the trade cost wrong due to a reliance on hope, rather than history (and math).
Here’s how Sturm broke down the trade value.
Using 2026 prices, Dallas sent away picks 76 and 193 for Pittsburgh for 121. That means Dallas sent away 210 pts and 14.2 for a total of 224.2 points in exchange for 52 points. The net loss of 172 points or roughly pick No. 84 which is a mid-round 3rd.
Of course, for those predicting a Cowboy Super Bowl run and the Steelers drafting Arch Manning, the math will be different
First of all don't be critical of my spelling grammar or my sentence structure because I use talk to text and I don't go back and fix it you knew what it meant but you want to start some trouble up here my middle name is trouble Pocket Presents See I even said it the proper way and somehow it spells it wrong pocket presents Nope it won't do itI want some of those pocket presents please lol j/k
I think he is He played both positions and you don't give up that kind of money We're talking about not just subbing in one game we're talking about if it's something more long term he may not like to go over to the other side but I think he likes the left side better I don't know I didn't read every comment but there was a comment he didn't like switching back and forthHe's not a swing. Smith moves to LT if there is an injury

Like I said, the Cowboys moved up half a round and gave up a 6th. Pretty reasonable deal for a player the Cowboys think can be a swing OT at the worst and potential starter who is still on his rookie deal.
I think Khan would have gritted his teeth and kept him. Jones was Kahn’s very first pick as Steelers GM and he traded a fourth round pick to move up from #17 to #13Hence why I've stated before on why they didn't just wait till cutdown day before giving up this kind of draft capital. Jones was graded a 1st round talent. Thomas, Steele, et cetera weren't.

Jones himself said he felt mismanaged With the Stealers. That won't happen here. The explanation he gave was a very reasonable one too.
Coaching matters and the Cowboys have great OL coaching too. A change of scenery and better coaching will make a difference. Yes he needs some work but like I said, I'll take his upside and let the Cowboys develop him.
Picking one preseason game, especially the third game, when you’re not even facing backup NFL players is the worst possible film to study.By that standard should we have ignore college tape and if so how do we evaluate college players?
Seems nfl preseason would be a pretty good way to gauge play?
