New Wide Out?...Joe Horn

Joe Horn is a classy individual, a hard worker, would be good in the locker room, and i was really impressed with the leadership role he took with the Saints during the Hurricane Katrina aftermath..

that being said, i really hope we don't get him.. he hasn't had a good season in three years now.. his best days are far behind him.. i think he would make a decent #3 reciever, but we already have that in Hurd.. or Crayton.. or Glenn.. i would rather have any of those 3 guys ahead of Horn at this point.. not to mention it would take away some time from some young talents like Austin and Stanback..

:starspin I agree, Horn would only slow down the young WRs we already have. I'm not claiming that I necessarily think that our young WRs will be the answer to our situation, but I would hate to see one of our young WRs get cut to bring in Horn, and then watch that young WR develop for some other team. No thanks, I say pass on Horn.

If not for the doubts on Glenn knee I would not go after Horn but the reality is Glenn knee is an issue. I don't care if he running right now the NFL season is a long one and that knee is not going to get better. I sure as heck do not want to get into the middle of the season and be dealing with a hobbled Glenn. I love everything Glenn has done but sometimes players and athletes in general do not know when to hang them up

Pass.

At some point you have to see what you have. And that means guys have to play. How much of a difference would he truly make? And how "bad" can the young guys be?

Hurd, Austin, Stanback. I can't believe at least one of those guys, if not the combo of all three, will bring what Horn can offer. One other thing, Austin and possibly Stanback also bring the ability for the big play. Horn doesn't at this point. He's a possession receiver and we already have one in Crayton.

Nah. I still can't forgive him for the stupid cell phone gig after a touchdown. He's a follower, not a leader. IMO he ain't worth 2.5 mil and not better than Crayton. Keep Amendola.

..if the price is right and the health of Glenn and the contract issue with him doesn't workout.

I just think he is actually a good insurance policy also if TO should go down for a few games.

I think part of the issue for Horn is being with teams that don't feature a good passing attack.

Put him in our attack as a #3 WR and I think he's a huge difference maker vs. Hurd or anybody else just in that role alone.

What he might have lost in some speed, I think he makes up for with his knowledge of the defenses and knowing what is needed.

This could indeed happen.

In fact, I think it maybe should happen and then let the TG issue work itself out one way or the other.

What would this team look like with TO, Witten, Horn, Crayton and Terry Glenn as a 5 receiver formation..?

Like Darth Vader's Imperial Star Fleet appearing in the skies overhead.

Impressive.

I'd rather if we didn't bring in old players on the decline. Joe HOrn sucks !!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely not for $2.5 mil.

Vet's minimum and we'll take a look see.

I'm glad to hear that the team is looking at other options. Time to stop wasting time on the Glenn situation and move on.

No way. We are much better off with Glenn... and for around the same price too.

The youngsters we have behind Glenn (should he go down) need the experience anyway. Even if Glenn does make it one more season, it'll probably be his last, so we need them to get the experience and opportunity to see if they can handle the job.

Also, don't count Crayton out. He wasn't fabulous by any means, but neither was T.O. in his first few years in San Francisco. We gotta give him time.

I think he'll be a good one if we just give him another year or so.

why do people find security in the past that's not done much in the present?

horn is over and out.

I would use that exact line when describing Glenn, and even moreso.

I'm thinking that Horn could at least pass a physical.

I'd take Horn over Hurd or Austin. Fact is, we are primed to go all the way this year, and IMO Horn will give us a seasoned vet who gives us the consistency that Austin and Hurd do not. We have a habit of hanging on to these developmental types for too long, neither one of them project to be much more than an ok #2 WR down the line anyways. We will be drafting some wr's next year in the high rounds anyways, so why not add a vet that can play at the expense of one of our many WR projects?

Anyways... Get me Bentley (assuming he's fully recovered) off of that list!

Not only that, but also, Horn provides somrthing to Jerry Jones that Jerry can use over Terryt Glenn to get Glenn to sign the injury setlemet; and that is LEVERAGE! It's a smart move by Dallas to give themselves an insurance policy should Glenn disappear into yesteryear.

I would prefer to keep Glenn over bringing in Horn. Even if he doesn't sign the injury waiver. Just my opinion. No one has to agree.

I completely agree with you. Glenn's last 1000+ yard season is only 2 seasons back... Horn's last 1000+ yard season was 4 seasons ago

Either way, all the talk is just typical Jerry Jones smoke and mirrors.

He is just putting a little pressure on Glenn to let him know that he is replaceable. Trust me, no one at Valley Ranch has fooled themselves into thinking Horn deserves to be the new #2....

He wouldn't be any better in that role than Patrick Clayton, and Jerry knows that better than any of us.

About the best thing I could say is that Horn is actually healthy enough to play.

I assume you mean a healthy Glenn over a healthy Horn, but that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment.

I don't know, I just think sometimes people like to keep their own trash, rather than try someone elses.

I don't know about that. He missed 4 games last year and had fewer catches than Marion Barber. Fewer yards and TDs too.

27 grabs, 243 yards, 1 score.

Doesn't make him a better receiver......................

No, but it makes him a guy that might actually be there when you need him.
