News from Rookie mini Camp

I can’t get excited about any rookie until pads are on. I always remember Rico Gathers as a perfect example of a guy who “dominated” in t-shirts and shorts but when the pads were on, somehow he couldn’t play.

If you are comparing Dak Prescott to Troy Aikman in any way, shape or form, you are completely clueless and shouldn't be taken seriously.

If Dak Prescott was the QB in the 90s the Cowboys would now be looking to win their first Super Bowl since the 1970s.
It's an absurd comparison and why I don't even entertain the notion to debate but I make an exception now and then.

Those that make that comp are either too young to have ever witnessed that era of the game or were too drunk and old to remember.

While I somewhat fall into the latter category, I remember every single snap that Aikman took because I was such a freak back in that day that I recorded VCR tapes of all camp footage, Games, all games, championsips, SBs. got boxes of the Aikman ERA, and I used to review those tapes, it was the only way to stop and rewind and watch again at that time.

What I gleaned from those years of evaluation was Aikmans ability to gain a solid relationship with his WRs like Irvin, and that is how you establish chemistry and then timing routes are actually effective and the trust value allows you to release the ball before the WR has even turned into his route....

This is why I try and not even get involved in this debate, silly time wasted.

Just a few tidbits.

At least Fassell said they will get Deuce Vaughn some work in over the summer at PR & KR.

Talked about needing to replace two of the best ST's players in Noah Brown and Luke Gifford.
Also will be a competition to take over the Noah Brown role at WR and mentions 4 of the WR's

MM and Brian S, have been working side by side, working together on the new offense, which has been a grind and fun. In order to maximize Dak's potential.
Also mentioned punt protection!! Not good

How much does this guy hate the Cowboys that he's imagining all these Super Bowls the 49ers should have won but got cheated out of?
That is lame Risen and you know it, he doesn't have the right to view and acknowledge a broader landscape than just the Cowboys, really?
How much are we allowed to comment on outside of the grey boundaries within this forum.

What I find funny is every year in camp of course the rookies are going 100% balls to the wall and the veterans are walking through the motions. And the media reports "so and so rookie was dominating Larry Allen/Eric Williams all day, watch out for him". We get all hyped up here (Rico), and poof another friggin Mailk Jefferson/Overshown is born. LOL.

Seth Payne, a former DL and current Houston radio guy says he used to HATE training camp because the rooks didn't know how to act.

Didn't he play with two HOFers and a HOF nominated coach? He dis have Rod Smith, few others as I recall
Rod Smith didn't play with Elway in the 80s when Elway took the Broncos to three blow-out Super Bowls.
Smith was with Elway during his two Super Bowl wins.
As for Hall of Fame nominated coach, Dan Reeves is in the Hall of Fame. But he and Elway didn't always see eye-to-eye. And Elway had more rapport with Mike Shanahan than he ever did with Reeves. Simply put, I don't know how much influence Reeves had with Elway, especially since Elway lost all his Super Bowls with Reeves.
Reeves was a good coach, though.

David Durden may add interesting competition to the WR group

I think it’s pretty telling when you look at the level of competition Dryden was facing in college. Dude is listed at just a tick above 6’-1” but looked like he was 6’-4”+ in his highlight clips.

And just like Elway, who dragged 3 of the worst super bowl rosters ever to Super Bowls.
Dak is no Elway but that comment is ridiculous, just like when the niners and Cowboys were ruining the AFC's best offer.. the best team in the NFC was just better by alot....by no means where those Denver teams trash...ridiculous.

Yes, when using Troy Aikman as a comparison I shouldn't "troll" (fanboy for say something they don't like) and use Troy Aikman as a comparison.

And why can't I be stupid? Do you have that copyrighted?
not copy righted. be as stupid as you want to be :)
the fact is that everyone knows Dak is not Elite. yet a lot of Dak haters continue to complain about Dak not being Elite.its a circular illogic

This quote is why I love DQ "it's not about how they got into the room, it's about what they're gonna do with it. Now that they're here, it's our job to find the unique stuff that they have and make it come to life."

Only here can I click on a thread expecting to see rookie minicamp news and instead see more recycled Dak bashing.

We all get it. Now figure out how Dak's to blame for all Brett Maher's PAT misses and everything will be explained.

some already made the "Find a kicker" thread about Dak's accuracy, its beyond obsession at this point.
