Newsday: Jets, Cowboys could pursure Matt Jones

It would be very odd if they were to bring him in.

He is everything that they claim to be cleaning out.

The corner that went to tampa last year, I forget his name was from richardson and hung out with gang members and drug dealers and that is why they stayed away from him.

So to bring in an actual convicted narcotics felon would be odd.

I'm sure the coke dealers of the metroplex are right there with you

So is gucci, whitney, britney spears.... Also featuring Christina Aguerlera... Making the remix to bricks by gucci on youtube.

I think the guy may have thrown his entire career away.

When the receiver-starved Jaguars release you, what's left?

my only problem with matt is he does not use his natural born talent to the best of his abilities.

he is way too laid back and ho hum about everything.

slept through a tornado.

as far as being caught with cocaine.....the best receiver other than jerry rice did a whole hell of alot cocaine.

would you trade our 3 superbowl wins away because mike and countless others did coke?

tony dorsett had a cocaine problem from hell.

he was pathetic too i guess.

Watched a piece on Bodie Miller on Gumbels HBO show. Jones reminds me of him.

If they are Cowboy greats they don't seem to count;)

Little upside, some baggage...I'd pass personally! We have enough projects @ WR already! If we're going to bring in another wideout I'd rather have Torry; someone who could solidify and add some quality to the position instead of yet another converted QB!!

We could have Romo under center, RW11/Matt Jones wide, and Stanback in the slot. That's three QBs on the field at one time! CHAMPIONSHIP!

he's actually saying he's hearing from sources

For the Record, Newsday is not the most admirable of newspapers. There's a fair chance those sources were just a misinterpretation of sounds emanating from the writer's toilet bowl.

(which would be fitting, since putting that paper into the toilet would be it's best use)

I don't believe this story is valid at all... and just something assumed.

I do believe that Jerry has some type of "Jimmy Smith" syndrome where he won't leave any pot smokin, crack sniffin, jail living player withouth seeing if he could possibly work for the Cowboys and become a star. Jimmy Smith wasn't any of these, but he was talented and released only to come back and haunt Jerry. When will he learn... everyone has an "oops" GM move now and again (well... moreso with Jerry at the GM, but...). Don't make it worse by going after high profile losers.

jimmy was released because he broke his leg...

noone knew what that bad *** would become.

True... but he was with them for two years. How long have we had Stanbeck so far?

Good Lord, how desperate for WRs are we if Matt Jones is even being remotely considered???

The dude loves doing blow and is not exactly probowl caliber either. We should have just kept TO if we are seriously thinking about doing this, at least TO is still a baller.

he broke his leg his rookie yr as I recall...the next yr he had the appendectomy and lost a ton of weight (I think he got down to the 160 range)

What are the circumstances for his arrest? If he's not addicted then I'd think about it. If he is then I'd really really really have to think about it. You can't overlook speed and talent in this league.

What would Matt Jones be if he had a QB like Romo? And don't say a coke addict just for you smartalecks out there.

Matt Jones' speed has not translated on to the field. Patrick Crayton averages more per reception than Matt Jones and has more big plays. We all know that Crayton is not fast.
