Condemning them to what? You completely miss the point of how being a hypocrite and favoring negative actions towards others based on said hypocrisy is deplorable. Im not saying there is no justification for condemnation but hypocrisy is certainly not one of them.
Personally, outside of very small children and mentally handicapped people I've never met anyone who isn't a hypocrite in some way or another. It's called being human and having human failings.

Small children and the mentally handicapped escape that judgment by being innocent. Once innocence is gone, hypocrisy is possible.

The amazing thing is most innocence is removed from children by adults. I have never yet met a racist baby. I doubt I ever will, but as that baby grows and hears the hypocrisy of the parents it can develop the same hypocrisy. The parent creates the environment that removes innocence.

Its one thing to be a hypocrite and its quite another thing to remove another's liberty based on it. Therein lies the difference.

I realize you are trying to make a joke out of this but this is something that I take very seriously. I find the removal of a persons liberty to be very serious business.

Not to me. There are levels of hypocrisy same as levels of anything else, including cruelty to animals.

I'm not interested in being perfect, or in anyone else who thinks they are. It is the foibles of mankind that makes life challenging (for lack of a better word).

Hence I simply say "I am no better, nor no worse, than anyone who has ever walked the planet." I do not have any reason to look down on others, because they can just as easily look down on me.

they are dogs not people. I'm interested in HUMAN RIGHTS not rights to animals when we feel like it.

So you admit that this is a gross hypocrisy yet still advocate the incarceration of people based on it? I jjust want to get this clear.

If that is the case, then these humans have the same rights to treat domesticated animals with proper care, because, as you said, it is their rights.

Even aside from the hypocrasy you perceive, the fact of the matter is that what Vick is accused of is against the law, and neither Michael Vick nor you gets to decide which laws to follow.

Im not saying that the prosecutors etc are not doing their due diligence. I still find the law and peoples fervor for it deplorable.

Hypocrisy does not have to be taught just like you don't have to teach a 2 year old to lie. It is just part of a selfish nature that all of us have.

Very small kids treat others in ways they dispise being treated. I would say that would be one of the earliest forms of hypocrisy and that is not taught by parents. It is the nature we were born with.

I'm being a little lazy here, I'm sure somewhere in the bowels of this thread it's there for me to find, but is your hypocrasy claim based on the idea that we kill animals for food or hunt animals for sport?

That again would be a right to animals and not a human right. And as is abundantly obvious as to how we treat animals, in general animals are not afforded rights to freedom, happiness or life. If this was the case then there would be no pets, no animal testing and no meat aisle.

The rights of man supersede all.

But we as a society get to decide which moral values we deem "against the law" do we not. There is a lot of hypocrisy in that alone IMO.

I think that's what Vick and his friends thought, too! My, my, my, how wrong they were!
