Wow I see this thread has gotten it's wear.. I think Phillips did the right thing when questioned about Vick.
Personally, outside of very small children and mentally handicapped people I've never met anyone who isn't a hypocrite in some way or another. It's called being human and having human failings.FuzzyLumpkins;1570750 said:Condemning them to what? You completely miss the point of how being a hypocrite and favoring negative actions towards others based on said hypocrisy is deplorable. Im not saying there is no justification for condemnation but hypocrisy is certainly not one of them.

Small children and the mentally handicapped escape that judgment by being innocent. Once innocence is gone, hypocrisy is possible.
The amazing thing is most innocence is removed from children by adults. I have never yet met a racist baby. I doubt I ever will, but as that baby grows and hears the hypocrisy of the parents it can develop the same hypocrisy. The parent creates the environment that removes innocence.

Not to me. There are levels of hypocrisy same as levels of anything else, including cruelty to animals.FuzzyLumpkins;1570794 said:Its one thing to be a hypocrite and its quite another thing to remove another's liberty based on it. Therein lies the difference.

I'm not interested in being perfect, or in anyone else who thinks they are. It is the foibles of mankind that makes life challenging (for lack of a better word).
Hence I simply say "I am no better, nor no worse, than anyone who has ever walked the planet." I do not have any reason to look down on others, because they can just as easily look down on me.
