The Dak excuses thread continues… we’ve had the same WR core all year long when “Dak was doing Dak”.. I guess we got excuses for Rush against the Eagles now?

how many “Dak-friendly” WRs we got to invest in?

this time ladt year, you guys were telling us Amari couldn’t get open or was giving up on routes.

Tell me how much separation 98 had over the middle on this pick 6? Let’s also ignore the fact Dak was staring down the WR the WHOLE WAY which allowed the defender to create no separation, as he broke on the route. But blame MOORE or the WRs, not the fact Dak is just an early read QB.

Got to love the Dak fan-boys. None of these stats tell us anything about the separation a particular WR or TE had, when Dak didn’t even bother looking their way when he decided to throw to a receiver even if we assume they didn’t create much separation.

Looking at your video clip of the pick-6, the first problem one sees is the horrible and lazy rounded out-route Noah Brown ran. He never forced the CB to respect his route running, thus allowed the CB to easily break on Noah's lazy route and step in front for the easy pick-6.

Here is a video explaining how to properly run passing routes AND WHY IT'S IMPORTANT...to prevent the end result we saw in the pick-6 up above.

Here's a hint: Get seriously and properly informed about the technical aspects of the game of football before you keep making a fool of yourself by blaming the QB for that pick-6.

The quarterback didn't want him here either remember that
Well, all one has to do is look at Amari's execution at times. He would take himself out during key drives/plays or not show up on the field. Definitely was not worth the $20+ million/year paycheck. On that part, I don't blame Jerry for cutting bait and trading Amari. Wish Jerry would request paycuts from Dak, Zeke and several others currently overpaid on this team as well.

We will be drafting receiver again for sure. Cb then bpa wr or lb but we will have to see who we resign and how cox clarke and tolbert progress

Cox is a major bust, he's played in 16 games and has 8 total tackles.
Tolbert is a small college guy, but he's no Jerry Rice.
Rumors are that Dallas has already decided to put James Washington on waivers.

It never ends, about the time Dallas gets one area of the team up to snuff, another 2 falls down.

Talent evaluation, next to Jerry, is the biggest problem on this team...

Well then you must be aware that Dak leads the league in tight window passing and is second for week 18 behind Joe Flacco and the Jets.

And way too much non-fact in this post. Davante Adams and Tee Higgins can win with 1.5 yds of separation. Gallup and Brown? Not even close.

Yeah seems like one of the biggest problems is that Moore can't scheme WRs open. Which is the different in watching other contending offenses. It's not all because of other teams having talented WRs for the reason that they're able to get so wide open. But also because they have OCs who can scheme routes to get them open. Problem with Moore's route concepts is seen in the tweet below.

Dalton - 1.5
Gallup - 1.7
Brown - 1.7
Lamb - 3.4

I’ve seen some poor separation stats but this is among the worst I’ve ever seen for a single game from 3 of your top 4 receivers.
So much of this is play design and route combinations. The Cowboys are probably at or near the top of the league in “stop” routes while being at or near the bottom in routes of motion and rubs. They also rarely utilize bunch formations, drags, or quick slants. I don’t know if it’s Moore, Dak, or a combination of both, but they have to open it up and improve play design.

Spot on. This also makes me wonder how much Daks inability to read and process quickly stunts this offense. If Moore/MM don’t think Dak can scan the entire field quickly, they have to bunch routes into levels almost exclusively.

A smart team will address needs like WR and DT and LB in free agency or by trades. Then you draft BPA.
If you wait on critical needs till the draft, you risk wasting another year because guys may not be there in the draft and draft picks don’t always pan out, especially as rookies.

Exactly what several of us have been saying all season long (no separation by our receivers, continued terrible pass route concepts called up by Kellen Moore, terrible route running by receivers, etc), but we get called morons, Daksuckers, Daktards, etc.

Problem with Kellen Moore's playcalling is that it relies on mostly the pure talent of the OL, RBs and WRs. And then gets exposed when that talent isn't enough against some defenses who Kellen Moore can't scheme offensive weapons open against.

“Per @NextGenStats

Noah Brown finished the season with 2.3 yards of average separation. That ranks T-117th out of 121st eligible WR’s/TE’s.
Michael Gallup is at 2.4. Which ranks T-116th out of 121. They also rank 103rd and 112th in catch %.

KM has to call the type of plays that can help them.. motion.. stacked formations.. etc etc..

It’s on the coaches too..

Nothing was expected of Brown and most people knew Gallup was not going to be anywhere near 100% this year.

However KM did no favors in scheming people open. To many lazy curl routes or recievers stacked up on each other. Then throw in the regressing pass blocking and limited quarterback.

That would help, but it’d also help for a significant talent upgrade at the position.

The OC went away form 12 personnel, now the run game is trash and the WRs are probably trying to sale routes the CBs already know. This is a OC stat, I mean, you're allowed to scheme WRs open.

It's harder to catch when you can't separate, they go together.

I’m not giving up on Tolbert yet…I think he fits the bill if someone having that quickness and speed. Dude just had that smooth route running just like Cooper did…no idea what happened this year but we need him.

Also doing everything I can in the offseason to find a trade.
