NFC East is for the Cowboys to lose.

Based on how the teams are playing, to me personally, it appears that Dallas is the class of the NFC East.

The Eagles look good against the 49ers, but the 49ers aren't very good. The Eagles somehow lost to an awful Giants team. And their other win was against the trash known as the Texans. That being said, they have a much better quarterback then the Skins or Giants, and if he keeps playing the way he is and if Westbrook can keep up his play, the Eagles look like they might be the toughest competition in the NFCE. They get to play Green Bay who they should beat unless GB keeps the magic up. That puts the Eagles coming into Dallas at week 5 as a 3-1 team. That game will be huge. If the Cowboys can win it, the Eagles will be at 3-2 and the Boys at (hopefully) 3-1. If the Boys lose then, the Eagles will be sitting alone at the top with a 4-1 record with the boys in 2nd with a 2-2 record. One good thing for Dallas is that Philly has an extremely difficult schedule that half-dozen weeks.

The Skins are god awful, but that is to be expected from such a trash organization (Lloyd and Archuleta and Duckett will save us!!!). Even after beating up on the Texans (who might lose to Southlake Carrol if Andre Johnson caught the flu), the Skins still are a bad, bad team. If the fumble return for a TD wasn't called back by a phantom penalty, it would have been a 1 possession game with 5 minutes left, so who knows what would have happened. The Skins woeful dink and dunk offense and their pourous defense will be exposed against any NFL-caliber team. They will get smacked next week by Jax, and then have the NFCE Toilet bowl with the Giants. If the Skins lose that, you will see the definition of a meltdown. The Skins are going to lose to Jax and NYG, get a win against trash Tennessee and then lose to Indy. That puts them at 2-5 into their bye week with their next game at home against us. I think we win again, which will put them at 2-6 and the wheels will be completely off that franchise at that point.

And the Giants? Well, they are lucky to not be 0-3 right now, and they look pretty bad. They are probably really looking forward to the bye week in Week 4 because they are guaranteed to not lose that week. That puts them up against the Commanders in week 5 as the 1-2 Giants play the 1-3 Skins at New York. I think the Giants win that game if Eli can keep from blowing it. That will put the Giants at 2-2 and looking at decent-looking Atlanta in week 6. I think they lose that, which means they will roll into Dallas 2-3. I think we beat them, which puts them down to 2-4.

If at the midpoint we can be even with Philly or better, I think the NFC East is our's to lose. The Skins and Giants are trash, and Philly has a hard second half. If we can play hard the next couple of weeks and beat Tennessee and Philly, we should be able to walk over Houston and the Giants. That would put us at 5-1 going into the Carolina game with a couple more cupcake teams on the other side of that in Washington and Arizona.

Stay healthy and execute. Our team could be in the driver's seat.

Do you have anything constructive to say? Care to comment on what you disagree with? Or do you just want to make an *** out of yourself again HeavyHitta?

I agree with HeavyHitta.

just settle down Cobra, and wait until after Game 8, then let's bring this up again. Too early to make knee-jerk comments,,, yet

How eloquent

If I responded to everything in your post that I disagree with, I could very well be here till Tuesday afternoon. Let's just say that cooler heads always prevail and cooler heads don't judge an entire division after 3 weeks.

If you read the board enough, you would know that doing that is also a bad idea.

What do you see as knee-jerk?

Ok. How about just 5 things then?

so far it looks that way but still way too early to tell. heck wait until after the philly game as we should have a good indication of how good each teams is after that game

Wow, Southlake Carroll was mentioned here. Cool.

Cobra, from what I've seen, you're right on target. Don't overestimate Dallas though.

Your "post" is not worthy of such recognition. It is one big knee jerk based brought about by one half of football. It consisted of you calling the Eagles horribly average and the Giants and Commanders the trash of the NFL, which is simply false.

Look like perfectly valid observations at this point. Sure teams can turn their season around (i.e., Commanders in '05), but if we waited til after the Super Bowl to evaluate all the teams, discussion boards like this would be pretty boring.

"At this point" = Not even 3 full weeks into the season

After 3 weeks last season, the Seahawks were just another NFC team and the Steelers were an averaged team who had lost to the only decent team they played

Actually, at this point last season many people were predicting both teams to go to the Super Bowl. If I recall correctly, both did.

Actually, you are full of it. Seattle had lost to Jacksonville, should have lost to Atlanta, and beat a bad Arizona team.

Pittsburgh had beaten the Titans and the Texans and lost to the Patriots

People were predicting a Philadelphia vs New England rematch in the SB

So you felt it necessary to open your mouth, but when asked to contribute anything of substance, you cower and try to obfuscate. Typical behavior coming from you.

Which half of football are you referring to? My comment is based on last season, this preseason, and the first 3 games.

I did? Where?

I called them trash in general, and they are. There are worse teams in the NFL, but they are definitely both in the bottom 10 teams in the league, in my opinion, which I define as trash. I never said they were the worst 2 teams or anything of the like. But I think both would be lucky to have a winning record the way they look. I'd be happy to have you dispute what I said about their up-coming games you disagree with.

I know you won't get into specifics because you never do. You just run your mouth for the sole purpose of running your mouth. Whenever you are called on it, you end up embarrassing yourself in the subsequent discussion. And if I had to bet, I would bet that you originally commented based solely on the title of my post and never read the substance of my comments. Now you are trying to CYA and argue it. And after popping your mouth off further about how many things you think are wrong about it, you couldn't even do that.

You're an embarrassment to this board.

You have a bad memory. Pittsburgh was coming off a 15-1 season and the media was riding Seattle's nuts as bad as Carolina's. Just because Philadelphia was performing well doesn't mean others weren't predicting Seattle. What kind of logic is that?
