What fans don't realize is that there's no way in hell we are going to use a top 1-4 draft pick on a QB this year. There is no QB coming out who will be rated highly. Maybe we trade down for more picks and use a pick outside of the top 10 on a QB, or we use a 2nd rounder on a project QB.

Our future franchise QB is not in the top 5 picks this year. Sign RGIII to back up Romo for the next 2-3 years and see if you can develop him. No drafted QB at the top of round one this year will help us be a better team the next 3 years.

Not the RGIII talk again. The Deadskins are even a better team without him.

So the 5-6 Giants and the 5-6 Commanders who have had their Starting QB ALL year are SO much better than us?! Seriously?
They both suck, and we can beat them (and did). We beat the Giants WITH Romo, and were 20-20 with seconds to go with Cassel (before the miraculous KO return by Harris lost that game for us)

We sweep the Commanders, and everyone here will have a different tune... am tired of the fair weather fans in here.

This team isn't going to beat Washington in either game Mr. Super Fan.

At this pace, we might be able to win the division and still get a top 5 pick.

Sure, let's make the playoffs for a moral victory, gwt blown out by a WC team, lose draft position and give JJ a reason to keep this crack staff of jags around another year.

how are we beating the skins?we cant stop the run to save our lives.

The same reason why Colt McCoy came into JerryWorld last year and beat the eventual 12-4 Cowboys.

Weird things happen with Dallas and Washington.

Are we still talking about the Cowboys chances to make the playoffs? I'm getting sick of this nightmare season with a flicker of hope that lingers on each week. Beating the Commanders next week would make things crazy.

That was not a blow out... scratch the 2 pick sixes and we have a tight game. We held the Panthers to 5 FGs otherwise.

Scratch every bad play against the team the entire season then....The fork is out its in the steak the season is over as far as the playoffs are concerned.

Don't worry, Dallas will screw this up as they did in 2010. We were on our way to a top 3 pick and then they won 5 of the 8 remaining games. Thereby letting Garrett the idiot get the head coach position and we dropped way down in the draft.
And had to deal with the horrible fate of only drafting Tyron Smith.

We are 2 games behind both the Skins and Giants, and 1 behind Philly...with only 5 games to go. I'm not sure you see the real problem. We could sweep the Skins and still be in third place two games behind NY and a game behind Philly. We could win all five games, most on the road, and still finish in 2nd or 3rd. We could end in a three way tie and still lose because our division and head to head won't matter, and our conference record is terrible. Then you also have Philly, which is also ahead of us, with games remaining vs both NY and Washington (2 games each ahead of us), and someone in our division will win those games.

Is it possible? Yes....but running the table vs. the defenses of Washington, the Jets, the Bills, and the Packers with our anemic offense and our winless backup QB, while also hoping three different teams ahead of us all lose multiple games when we need them to lose....well, that's just not realistic at all. If we were sitting in second place two games behind only the Skins, I'd understand your hopefulness, but it's over, dude.

We have such an easy schedule, but Cassel couldn't even win 1 game, so this thread is just ridiculous.. Season is over, time to study for the draft.

I say the heck with it. Cassel will win out, we will get a "tuck rule play" in the playoffs and beat AZ, CAR and then Matty will beat his old team, the Pats, in the Super Bowl for the big win.

We will have to trade Romo next year.

As bad as thing. have gone this season, the Cowboys are now only 2 games behind the Giants and Commanders in the NFC east (all teams have a losing record). Watching this NYG/WAS game today shows that we are every bit as good or better than these teams, and have just as much claim to win the division as they do. In a normal year, this would not be the case, but this is the hand we were dealt. No reason to give up now. Screw draft pick position.

Eli Manning is BRUTAL.
The Skins are BRUTAL.
Philly is worse than both of them,
and Cassel has improved each week. The guy is a good Quarterback, and has led two teams to the playoffs. I know we CAN do this, and is more than feasible mathematically. It is the same as being 7-4 and trying to catch a 9-2 division leader... has happened MANY times.

The Giants will lose to Carolina, and probably will lose to the Vikings and Jets and maybe even the Dolphins... the only likely win I see for them is Philly. GIANTS record 6-10, maybe 7-9

Skins will likely finish 6-10 / 7-9 as well... with that in mind, us going 4-1 or 5-0 is NOT out of the realm.

We happen to play the Skins twice (and have swept them many times over the years, including when we sucked)... winning both of those will give us the division tiebreaker (4-2 division record), and we can beat the Packers (playing terrible right now, just lost to the bears AT Green Bay), and can very well beat the Jets and Bills.

Stranger things have happened, and we are not as bad as our record would indicate... we have been in every game we lost, except the Patriots and Carolina... and without the two pick sixes vs. Carolina, that is a VERY close game. We basically held them to 5 FGs.

All in all, we have a legitimate shot.

I think you mean we are every bit as bad as the rest of these teams

it's a shame considering how we played last year. We should have wrapped up the east this week, instead we are hoping for a top 5 pick. I blame this entirely on the coaching staff who don't have a clue how to maximize the talent they have. It's sad how far this franchise has fallen.
