Sanders, $25 million, half of that guaranteed. Some teams just don’t spend that kind of money for running backs. Unlike Pollard, Sanders is not much of a receiver. Swift will spend time on IR for half what Sanders will, and for a third of what Pollard will.
How did you do that math?

I seen his entire college career. He's not like Darren sproles. Just because they both played for Kansas St. Doesn't make them the same player. I hope I am wrong but I rarely am .
Some people think because a guy is small, he must be Darren Sproles.

Tony Pollard is the lead back finally for the Dallas Cowboys, but they're no longer the top running team in the NFC East.

3. Dallas Cowboys

Tony Pollard, Deuce Vaughn, Malik Davis, Ronald Jones
This means it's Pollard's show and while he has the potential to do great things in a lead role, he's also coming off a broken fibula. So far, there's no concern about this in 2023 but the depth behind him is questionable.

Malik Davis looked impressive as a rookie but the former undrafted free agent from Florida is still inexperienced overall. Ronald Jones is there and he has a lot of experience, even gaining 978 yards for the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. However, he's coming off a 70-yard campaign with the Chiefs and might not even make the 53-man roster.

The one player who could change their fortunes is Deuce Vaughn, a sixth-round pick from Kansas State. He has the potential to produce some highlight-reel plays but pinning their hopes on a late-round pick to be a difference-maker might not be a great bet.

Eagles are Number 1, not a surprise!

Its not as much about the RB's as it is the Oline. The Eagles have by far and away the best Oline so their backs will shine. Its actually very scary who they have. Some fast big play guys that will be incredible if they can stay healthy. Swift can do some serious damage in both the run and the passing game. He is very much like Pollard in that regard. Might even be faster.

The ranking had nothing to do with the o-lines

Top end talent wins games. The #3/4 guys are minimal difference makers. I think they have it almost backwards
Giants
Cowboys
Washington
Eagles

If you include Hurts as a runner the Eagles move way up

I saw it, too, and it's incredibly similar to Sproles.

My point is that it doenst really matter who has the best backs. It matters who has the better Oline.
But most people already know that. So, for the purpose of the topic, if you assumed all o-lines were equal, how would you rank the running back rotations in a vacuum?

To the contrary, most don't. Glad you do though.

But based on their ranking of the Eagles first, I think they did take the oline into consideration. Do you think the Eagles have the best backs?

Best? No…Saquon is clearly the best. But I do think the Eagles are the deepest at the position…and they rotate more than most teams do

I agree. Barkley is the best and Eagles the deepest.

Sanders is paid about double what Swift is, Pollard about three times as much. All three have had injury issues in their brief careers.
I read the Eagles are paying less than 8 million this year for all four RBs (Swift, Gainwell, Scott and dude from Seattle). The guy from Seattle (brain isn't working) has led the NFL in YPC over the last few years but always gets hurt.

Deuce Vaughn will save the day, I could even see him playing 1st round snaps. Don’t get me wrong Pollard is the starter, but I think he’d be better in pass blocking on 3rd downs than Deuce.

How could you have the Eagles first? Swift and Penny have injury concerns. If anything put the Giants first.

If big time running backs could be the difference between victory and defeat in today’s NFL Cook, Jacobs, and Barkley would have already been signed for the money they want. The Eagles “running room” is the least talented in the division. The concern is they don’t seem to be.

I don't buy their RB room for a second.

I don't buy Swift's talent and he and Penny are ALWAYS hurt. Hurt guys stay hurt lol. Philly could look at a significant number of games with Gainwell and Scott as their primary backs.
Swiift can ball without doubt. You’d have to be blind to not see that. He is also an injury waiting to happen, as is Penny.

Their o-line can make almost any back decent. The one thing that seems odd is that one of Swift’s strengths is catching the ball out of the back field, yet the Eagles throw to their RB”s fewer than any team in the league.
