Draft Day NFL 2024 Draft Day 3 thread

The trade for Lance looks worse now. Could have taken Allen at RB to throw in the mix versus a one year rental on Lance. Are we really going to put 60M on Dak AND resign him?

And then potentially take a flier on Rattler if you wanted to try a developmental QB (if he’s still there/trade up a bit)

Yeah, I thought he was long gone and then looked it up.
A bit of a head-scratcher
Not that he's a star or anything
Played with No. 1 draft pick...caught 12 TDs - 4th most in the Pac-12; his 17.6 yards per catch was 3rd in the conference.

Every aspect of the Trey Lance deal was bad.

Didn't discuss with alleged QB developer and Head Coach.

Overpaid.

He only had 2 years (at a higher salary) left in his deal and was not likely to play at all in the first year.

The idea that he gave them some leverage back with Dak was pure silliness. They hit free agency at the same time and again, Trey is not likely to see the field.

Bad, bad deal.

Lance at worst is a two year rental.

Lance at worst is a two year rental.
Last year was a throwaway as he was third string.

Now he gets to compete for #2 and be active for games.

Call it a 2 year rental then; I don’t care. I’m not splitting hairs about it. He’s essentially going to have 1 year where he might see some snaps.
