Ian Johnson-RB- Vikings Sep. 5 - 4:40 pm et

Vikings released RB Ian Johnson.

Johnson was a great story after his magical career at Boise State, but now he's facing some adversity. The Vikings looked like a good chance for the undrafted rookie to find a roster spot.

you can bet they're hoping to get him through to their practice squad

i thought he did an admirable job running the ball last night

Sands would be good player to look at. Flat out huge guy that's been around the league. I can't imagine that he's worse than Siavii.

Nah. He's terrible.

Figurs numbers per KR: 24.7 per KR in 07, 21.0 in 08 and he offers nothing as a WR.

Miles Austin KR numbers: 26.0 in 06, 25.5 in 07 and 21.5 last year.

IMO he was one of the best QB's in the 08 draft...

I'd take Brohm over McGee any day

Brian started 33 games at Louisville. He closed his career as the Big East Conference's all-time record holder in passing yardage, becoming the first player in league history to throw for over 10,000 yards (10,775). He finished second on the school's career-record list with 780 pass completions and 1,185 pass attempts. He compiled a 24-9 record as a starter.

Selected in the second round by the Packers as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in the country following a highly successful career at Louisville
GM Ted Thompson noted on draft day that the Packers were high enough on his abilities that the team tried to move up in the second round to select him

dang nabit, 2 teams have traded dbs and we are just sitting there
Reminds me of draft day when half the board went nuts because JJ didn't trade up.

K Matt Bryant among first Bucs cut
Kicker Matt Bryant was among the first players cut Saturday by the Bucs in an effort to reach the 53-man player limit today.

Bryant was summoned to One Buc Place and told his four year career with Tampa Bay had ended.

Bryant injured his right hamstring in training camp nearly four weeks ago and did not kick in any preseason games.

Therefore, Bryant was unable to compete against Jets free agent MIke Nugent, who went 6-of-9 in field goal attempts during the preseason.

Bryant, 34, is coming off his best season as a pro, connecting on 32-of-38 field goal tries.

Earlier in the week, he showed his frustration over the situation by lashing out at general manager Mark Dominik, coach Raheem Morris and Nugent during an interview on a local radio station.

"It's not really about Mike Nugent,'' Morris said following Friday's loss to Houston. "Mike Nugent is the only kicker kicking. He's got out there and kicked.''

Lindsay Jones, of The Denver Post, reports the Denver Broncos have informed LB Jarvis Moss that he has made the team.
I wasn't buying any of that nonsense about a month ago when there were rumors of Moss getting cut.

brohm or booty would be light years better than mcgee. they both will make practice squads...i just want them on ours

The New York Jets have announced they have waived DE Zach Potter

The Cowboys should be looking at this guy. He's not a great fit for a 4-3 DE, would have been better off as a DT, but he's a great fit for a 3-4 DE.
