brohm or booty would be light years better than mcgee. they both will make practice squads...i just want them on ours

Then they still be on there current teams remember Brohm is a 2nd round pick by the Packers so how well has he been doing if they are cutting a 2nd round pick from last year.

So I do not buy that Brohm is instantly better than McGee

Recently reinstated QB Michael Vick will not be on the Eagles’ 53-man roster to open the season, with the team opting to use an exemption.

I'd take Brohm over McGee any day

Brian started 33 games at Louisville. He closed his career as the Big East Conference's all-time record holder in passing yardage, becoming the first player in league history to throw for over 10,000 yards (10,775). He finished second on the school's career-record list with 780 pass completions and 1,185 pass attempts. He compiled a 24-9 record as a starter.

Selected in the second round by the Packers as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in the country following a highly successful career at Louisville
GM Ted Thompson noted on draft day that the Packers were high enough on his abilities that the team tried to move up in the second round to select him

How the heck did he lose out to Flyn from LSU as the backup another 2nd year player then ?

Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports the Cincinnati Bengals have placed WR Antonio Chatman (ankle) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2009 season.

Does this mean that WR Quan Cosby made the team?

I figured Kory Sheets had a chance to be the 3rd string RB, oh well. if he clears waivers, he might end up on their practice squad.

I wanted us to sign Khalif Mitchell after the draft. I am surprised Bear Pascoe and Joe Jon Finley didnt work out.

Chris McPherson, of PhiladelphiaEagles.com, reports the Philadelphia Eagles have waived CB Trae Williams, CB Jack Ikegwuonu, DE Bryan Smith, DE Josh Gaines, LB Torrance Daniels, FS Reshard Langford, WR Danny Amendola, RB Lorenzo Booker, C Dallas Reynolds, OG Paul Fanaika, OG Michael Gibson, TE Robert Myers, FB Marcus Mailei and FB Kyle Eckel. The Eagles have also released LB Matt Wilhelm and TE Matt Schobel.

Eagles have placed 5th round pick OT Fenuki Tupou (undisclosed) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2009 season.

As mentioned by Avaj above, Vick will stay on roster and count as an exemption. Eagles currently have a 54 man roster, similar to ours with pacman last season.

Partial Packers moves reported, including Harrell to IR

Though the team has yet to make any official announcements on the matter, the folks at the Green Bay Press Gazette have tracked down the majority of the moves.

With 10 more to go, here's what the Packers have done.

Cornerback Pat Lee (knee), and defensive end Justin Harrell (back) have been placed on injured reserve. Harrell was a first-round pick in 2007, and he recently has suggested that his career might be over.

Cut are defensive lineman Dean Muhtadi, tackle Dane Randolph, defensive end Ronald Talley, cornerback Trevor Ford, linebacker Cyril Obiozor, quarterback Brian Brohm, tackle Andrew Hartline, running back Tyrell Sutton, tackle Jamon Meredith, and running back Kregg Lumpkin.

Meredith was a fifth-round pick in the 2009 draft. Brohm, as previously mentioned, was dumped despite his second-round pedigree in 2008.

Two years ago, as the college football season was beginning, Brohm was regarded as a candidate to be the first overall pick in the draft.

I'd take a flyer on Meredith - he couldn't be any worse than what they kept.

CB Jack Ikegwuonu

Anyone know if he played well for the eagles? Might be a guy the Cowboys look at.

Raiders cut Jeff Garcia

The plan was for quarterback Jeff Garcia to push starter JaMarcus Russell, the first pick in the 2007 draft, to get better.

Plan B was for Garcia to win the job.

Plan C, as it turns out, was for Garcia to not make the team.

Per a league source, Garcia has been cut.

The surprising News out of Tampa is that they decided to keep all 4 QBs (Luke McCown, Josh Johnson, Byron Leftwich, and Josh Freeman). The media thought Wade was indecisive because he refused to name who started between the two CBs. JJT would probably break Raheem Morris down in tears if he had this coaching job.

Panthers.com reports the Carolina Panthers have released OL Justin Geisinger and S Kevin Kaesviharn. The team waived WR Larry Beavers, RB DeCori Birmingham, DL Casper Brinkley, OL Patrick Brown, QB Hunter Cantwell, WR Jason Chery, S Paul Chara, DB D.J. Clark, TE Andrew Davie, DT Marlon Favorite, DB Joe Fields, OL Keith Gray, LB Anthony Heygood, DT George Hypolite, LB Mortty Ivy, RB Jamall Lee, LB Jeremy Leman, WR Kevin McMahan, WR Marcus Monk, OL Jonathan Palmer and LB Kelvin Smith.

ClevelandBrowns.com reports the Cleveland Browns have waived FB Charles Ali, CB Brandon Anderson, QB Richard Bartel, CB Tra Battle, OL Branndon Braxton, LB Titus Brown, OL Dustin Fry, DL Adam Hoppel, WR Paul Hubbard, RB Chris Jennings, WR Lance Leggett, OG Pat Murray, WR Jordan Norwood, OL Kurt Quarterman, DE Brian Schaefering, OG Isaac Sowells and DE Santonio Thomas. The Browns have also terminated the contract of SS Hamza Abdullah, RB Noah Herron, CB Corey Ivy, WR David Patten and TE Aaron Walker.

The San Diego Chargers have released WR Gary Banks, LB Darry Beckwith, CB Simeon Castille, T Corey Clark, DE Andre Coleman, TE Charles Davis, G Ray Feinga, DE Keith Grennan, LB James Holt, DT Rashaad Jackson, FB Billy Latsko, WR Charles Martin, C Ryan McDonald, RB Kestahn Moore, CB Antonio Smith, P Truman Spencer and TE Kory Sperry.

Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports the Buffalo Bills have waived OG Kirk Chambers, QB Matt Baker, LB Alvin Bowen, DE Copeland Bryan, TE Tyson DeVree, DE Ataefiok Etukeren, OG Christian Gaddis, RB Bruce Hall, CB Cary Harris, WR C.J. Hawthorne, OT Nick Hennessey, WR Felton Huggins, DT Derrick Jones, DT Corey Mace, LB Ryan Manalac and TE Jonathan Stupar. The Bills have also waived injured OL Brandon Rodd (shoulder).

The Seattle Seahawks have announced they have waived SS Jamar Adams, DL Baraka Atkins, PK Brandon Coutu, OL Brian De La Puente, CB Marquis Floyd, OT Na'Shan Goddard, FS Courtney Greene, WR Mike Hass, CB Kevin Hobbs, FB David Kirtman, RB Devin Moore, SS Nate Ness, TE Joe Newton, WR Logan Payne, LB Dave Philistin, OT Andre Ramsey, OT William Robinson, QB Jeff Rowe and WR Courtney Taylor.

Steelers cut a few I'd be interested in

Dallas Baker
Roy Lewis
Jeremy Parquet
Desmond Sherrod
Carey Davis
Isaac Redman
Bruce Davis
Anthony Madison
A.Q. Shipley
Scott Paxson
Sonny Harris
Jason Capizzi
Mike Reilly
Peter Czech
Justin Vincent
Tyler Grisham
Tom Korte
Steve McLendon
Andy Schantz
Brandon Williams
Donovan Woods

Found this on KFFL, so take it FWIW, but AQ Shipley and Bruce Davis would be worth looks imo. I remember wanting Bruce Davis in the 08' draft but the steelers took him in rd 3 (huge reach imo), but if we could fit him I definately wouldn't mind.

played ball with this guy in highschool he was a beast and a locker room leader and helped our school to an undefeated reg season wouldnt mind him back in texas.

I don't care where Brian Brohm was drafted, he is overwhelmed by the pro game. He can't decide if he wants to wear a glove or doesnt. He had one decent week of practice and in two preseasons led the team to one TD. He holds the ball too long and if checkdown charley is your guy, then Brian Brohm is your man. I don;t know anything about McGee but would say he is better than Brohm.
