I remember the 1984 Cowboys were 7-4 when they lost at Buffalo to the 0-11 Bills. Dallas would finish 9-7 and miss the playoffs by 1 game.

I mean, 19 points the entire game isn't exactly that much. At some point, the defense being on the field so long will impact performance. Bears had like 1 yard for an entire quarter.

While the Bears D has certainly been inconsistent, I don't exactly blame them too much this year. They had to carry Mitch all last season, and Mitch is even worse this year. You're putting a lot on a defense.

Carry trubisky last year? He had 24 TDs and 12 picks. I'm not saying he is a top 10 QB and maybe not even top 15 but he wasn't carried. Bears defense was a beast last year though.

That being said I blamed the defense because they couldn't get a stop when it needed most. Had they got the ball back and Trubisky and the offense couldn't score than I would blame them. Eagles on that last drive abused the defense and picked up numerous 3rd and very long while running clock.
