NFL Insider Peter King thinks Adrian Peterson will play in Dallas next season

You can't compare AP to anyone else... he is a freak of nature when it comes to what he can physically do. Pairing him with our O line would strike true fear in the hearts of any defense. I'd get that done if it were within my power.

The cut Randle for Williams deal is a no brainer. Make that happen before the plane is headed to London.

If Murray may be able to run for 2k AP can get 3k even with 30.

Id sign him to a 1 year deal just to get us to the SB.

AP vs Murray aint no competition.

You have to wait and see where Murray finishes.

Like Romo and his injury history..

Murray carries the same warning as Romo.

Beware building your team with injury-prone guys.

This team still is playing with fire with these guys.

Season could completely unravel right now.

This is usually where it all starts with this team.

Good start..poor finish.

Let's see.

I thought AP had lost a step in that Rams game, another year away from football won't help that. People seem quick to assume he would be a huge upgrade over Murray, Demarco just broke a fifty year old record and doesn't court controversy. Peterson would be great in Madden, but IRL I'm not convinced.

Facts that we know..........

1. Peterson is probably going to get released from Minnesota because his cap charge is almost $16 million next year.
2. Peterson wants to play for Dallas and called Jerry Jones to tell him that.
3. Peterson has moved back home to Texas while he deals with his legal problems and he would like to stay in Dallas to be close to home (see phone call above to Jerry)
4. Murray is going to want a huge payday as an unrestricted free agent and presumably turned down a 4yr/$16 million offer from Dallas earlier in the season.
5. Murray is a fumbling machine and says he is not going to change anything about his running style. Well if you do the same thing over and over, don't expect a different result, hence expect a lot of fumbles with Murray.

So this tells me that Adrian Peterson might give us a hometown discount since this is where he wants to play and Murray can go collect his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow in Jacksonville or somewhere else. I really don't see a problem with this scenario, everybody gets pretty much what they want. Peterson gets to play close to home and be around his kids, Murray can go cash in and collect his millions, and we get a stud RB that is still relatively young and doesn't fumble every game.

I don't want AP. Even if he's the better player (which is hard to argue) Demarco is younger and while will likely cost more, is also more likely to be more effective 3 years from now then AP. Now, you could just keep drafting running backs to find another Demarco but I would rather have a proven guy. The only other point to make is if you think AP would put us over the top and I just don't agree with that. Running backs no matter how great don't carry a team to a super bowl with a piss poor defense. I've never seen it happen.

I like the idea of cutting Randle on Monday and promoting Ryan Williams to the 53.

I like the idea of letting Murray go elsewhere at the end of the season to get his HUGE pay day, and us signing Peterson to a 2 year, 8 million dollar deal.

I could only "like" this post, wish I could "LOVE" it!
even better would be the above with a trade Randle for a conditional late round pick

That's yet to be determined. AP is stressed out at home while we see what Demarco is doing. Cowboys would be fools to ASSUME that a 31 year old AP will be as good as a 27 Demarco. Not saying its not right. After coming back from his ACL injury like he did I won't pretend to predict his future. But at the end of the day he's still a running back over 30. And that's my point on CJ. If CJ in a down year and clear decline got 2 years 8 million......who's to say AP won't want more? OR can't get more for that matter? I'm sure the Jets or Raiders wouldn't mind giving him more.

There is only a 2 year age difference between Murray and Peterson, not sure where you're getting these ages from.

Trade deadline passed us by a few days ago so that isn't possible until the off-season. Even then, I think other GMs would not give up a pick for Randle knowing his past. They might invite him to camp to compete for a spot, but that's it. They could use that pick on a good RB and be much happier. The guy comes with baggage at this point, and it's significant as players question his loyalty now. Who wants that on a team? He's really easy to replace.

I'm against it but because it will be huge news, Jerry'll probably go for it.

Peter King thinks so.

I don't think so.

I'm in agreement with Peter King.

I think Murray prices himself out of the Cowboys' range and Peterson comes cheaper due to the circumstances of reputation and location.

I would take AP over Murray any day. He'll have to regain his status as the best RB in the NFL and I wouldn't mind seeing him do that in Big D.

Murray is playing lights out because he wants that money. Don't think he'll get a big pay day from Dallas. For now let's keep running Murray.

I'm fine with brining in AP but only on the cheap. I would take Murray over a 30 uear 9 lo peterson. RBs at 30 just go down hill.

And his age. He will be 30. RBs at 30 are done.
He better be real cheap and better draft a new RB.
I'm against resigning Murray for big money. Murray will be 27 next year and I think and good RB can run in this system and OL. You just need good vision to see the cut back lanes.
Melvin Gordon would be great. No reason to over pay RBs.
