I would love to have Peterson but I think it is unlikely he will drop far. If by some chance he drops out of the top 10 I think Jones may do it

I think Houston would trade the pick. They need all the draft picks they can get, and they just paid big money to Ahman Green who was still a Top 10 back in all purpose yards last year. Plus, Kubiak is of the Shannahan philosophy that you can find RB's later who fit your system.

Now would they trade with Dallas? Probably unlikely, because if Peterson fell that far Buffalo at #12 and Green Bay at #16 would probably all be in the mix and would be much more attractive trade partners. Plus, I doubt McClain is in any hurry to hand the 2nd best player in the draft to his cross state rival.

The odds are probably probably worse than 100:1 that Peterson could ever end up with the Cowobys, but it makes the draft a lot tantalizing than expecting Aaron Ross or Dwayne Bowe at #22.

I agree.

Up til yesterday, my plan for saturday was pretty much hang drywall and run downstairs from time to time to see who's getting picked.

It's shifted to sit downstairs to watch the draft and occasionally run upstairs to hang drywall. I'm giddy with the hope of landing Mr. Peterson.

Would you trade JJ, this years #22 and next years first for Peterson?

I think thats to expensive a price to give up...To move up 12 spots I would give up JJ and our second and maybe a 4 this year but wouldnt do much more than that

I dunno, IR... Besides of course hometown hero Young, I think they're still stinging from passing on Reggie Bush. I was in Houston a lot last year and all they could talk about -- besides Carr bashing -- was how bland Mario Williams was compared to all the flash of Reggie Bush. And then Dominick Davis/whatever had to retire and they were left with no RBs at all. I think they'd love someone for the town to get excited about on offense. Green was an excellent player for a long time, but at this point the glue factory is in sight.

Yeah, they probably *should* trade for a lot of picks, because they stink. But a team that's been in the gutter for quite a while now could use a "wow" player even more than we could.

We're actively looking for a RB? This is news to me.

I think it should be actively looking for the RIGHT RB. In that case, whether anyone here thinks AD is the right or wrong one, I think Jerry thinks he is the right one if the cards fall like they would hope.

I think it was pretty clear that Jerry thought AD (or maybe Lynch) were one of those players he would consider moving up to get if they fell some.

Beer and power tools dont mix. :D (or so my old boss used to tell me).

Lats time i was hanging drywall in my house it was after a few brews and my roomate suggested we start our own business.....

we'll call it oops construction.....we specialize in caulk, spackle and sometimes shims.

Lynch does not have the wow factor of Peterson. I think he really wants Peterson and would go after him if he is around at #12.

I'm not buying it myself.

I think he's Cleveland-bound. If not, Minny could definitely take him as the name Chester Taylor strikes fear in no one. Houston would be wise to take him if they got that lucky.

Not if Joe Thomas is still on the board.

I suspect Russell to Oakland (Al Davis doing), Johnson to Detriot (Matt is a fool, but he won't make the mistake of passing on Johnson), and Thomas to the Browns. (a good line makes a bad back look good. A bad line makes a good back look bad) I don't think Romeo Crennel will let Thomas go by.

Don't be a fool. Beer mixes with everything. ESPECIALLY power tools.

Maybe I can make the drywall into a drinking game. Everytime Mel Kiper mentions potential, hang a sheet. I'll be done in three minutes.

And I love caulk.

When asked who could be this season's Matt Leinart, as a guy who is a great player who could slide throuhg no fault of his own, he said if Cleveland doesn't take Peterson at #3 then he could fall all the way to #10. Tampa Bay wont take him at #4, they have Cadillac. Arizona invested a lot of money in Edge. Minnesota has money invested in Chester Taylor. He see's Peterson falling all the way to #10 to Houston, and Houston putting that pick up for auction to the highest bidder.

Wow factor.

I could see that...or someone else trading up for him. However, the idea that Houston would trade the pick is crazy....if Peterson was there at #10, giving them a chance to say "in your face, we knew it would be okay" when they have Mario Williams and plug in Peterson after passing on Bush...well...it would end some of the talk about what idiots they were last season.

A lot of talk in Houston has been on Landry as well as WR to replace Moulds. OL is another area being talked about. I have also heard the comments that they consider RB a luxury not a need

I can see AD falling to Houston, in fact, I have him doing that exact thing in my mock draft :) except for I think Houston takes him, they can't afford to pass on 2 very good runners twice in back-to-back years

they just spent 24mils or so on Ahman Green and resigned Ron Dayne...I really doubt they will take him with so many other needs...thats a bad football team

I've been saying for a few weeks now, that if Cleveland doesn't take Peterson that he could fall all the way to Buffalo (not counting teams trading up.) Most teams in front of Buff have all in the recent past addressed the RB issue and may decide to pass on Peterson, their thinking maybe that they've got a servicable starter why not get another position since we need so much help. I'm not saying it's going to happen but I wouldn't be suprised if it did.

I'd trade down for a second this year and a 1st next year, keep JJ for a year and use the 2 1st's to get Darren McFadden next year. Use the 2 2nds this year to get Meriweather or Jarret (I'm sure one of them will fall) and Woodley (using some of the late picks to move up a bit if need be), with the late picks I'd get Jacoby Jones, Cal Poly DB, Monster DT, OL, maybe Wolfe.

Wow factor.

Then I'd say that Dallas needs to move up to #9. Houston would definitely take an impact, blue chip running back. They have many holes to fill, but their need for premium talent is much greater!!
