I'd love to somehow get Peterson here. If the team would deal Julius, they could conceivably do it without giving up too many picks. At least, they could get a first day pick back anyway.
Exactly.

Peterson would be a horrible fit in Brad Childress' WCO offense. The prototype for his offense is Brian Westbrook. And if you think Chester Taylor is chump change, a guy who finished 9th in the NFL in total yards last year, I'd hate to see what you think of Julius Jones (31st). Plus, Minnesota had to outbid several teams for him and signed him to a pretty big contract for a RB.

What will make things even more interesting is if Buffalo drops out of the RB sweepstakes if they trade for Michael Turner. That would leave us, Green Bay and Tennessee and really the only teams actively looking for RB's and those teams can't afford to give up draft picks. The Titans might only be minimally interested anyway since they spend a 2nd rounder on LenDale White.

I hope this scenario plays out.

Personally I am for giving up the entire draft for Adrian Peterson

I think it should be actively looking for the RIGHT RB. In that case, whether anyone here thinks AD is the right or wrong one, I think Jerry thinks he is the right one if the cards fall like they would hope.

I think it was pretty clear that Jerry thought AD (or maybe Lynch) were one of those players he would consider moving up to get if they fell some.

I'm not saying JJ wouldn't take AP or even trade up to draft AP. I'm just saying we aren't actively looking for a RB. IF that were the case, JJ would be looking at Lynch too and I don't see that happening.

Your buddy Henry deserves the hate. 8)

He cost us the Commanders game.

Watch the film.

You "hate"on Henry who is the best second corner we have had in a decade
You "hate" on Romo who is the best QB we have had since Troy.

and you say that people are "Hating" on JJ when they call him a good not great back.

 you need help .......

maybe they did look at Lynch and came to the same conclusion that many others (including me) have...that he's an ok prospect and nothing special

AP is clearly the best RB in this draft and would be an upgrade if he stays healthy, Lynch is not an upgrade...

Still doesn't mean we're "Actively looking for a RB", does it?

How are you getting to this? 2nd best corner in a decade?

The guy is a 4th round draft pick.

I and that I dont think its his #1 concern...I think its exactly what he said it was...if an opportunity to get a guy thats rated as a top 3 or 4 talent on your board (most likely) came up, he'd make an effort to do it...I think Peterson represents an obvious upgrade to the offense

the rest of the RB's in this draft dont

What does that have to do with anything? He has produced for us and is better than anything we have had at the second corner spot in a long long time.

I agree with the blue part.

I disagree with the red part.

I'm not saying I KNOW which RBs in this draft are better then JuJo, but I'm pretty sure at least one of them (other then AP) will end up better. It wouldn't take much to be better then average.

Nobody criticized NO for taking Bush when they already had Deuce.

that's because Bush can be used almost like a receiver, and a change of pace back, AD fits neither of those roles

they just spent 24mils or so on Ahman Green and resigned Ron Dayne...I really doubt they will take him with so many other needs...thats a bad football team

David

only 6.5 mil is guaranteed, so most of that 24 mil is backloaded, and it's only a 4 year deal, I doubt he sees the last year, so it's realistically only a 3 year deal, and Ahman is 30 and has logged 10 years in the league

Ahman Green is a good back, but he is not the answer and isn't getting any younger

That is why is nickname in AD, All Day. He gets stronger as games go on and with his combo of power and speed he can give a team 20 to 25 carries a game. I'm no OU fan but this kid in my opinion will be an elite RB in this league.
