News: NFL: Prescott: Brian Schottenheimer is 'tied directly to my future'

Prescott sure does know how to ruin a party. After all the goodwill about hiring the next Andy Reid, Prescott does this. Darn.
Did you really expect Dak Prescott to actually support any decision that was going to force him to actually be uncomfortable?

"Obviously had a lot of success with this group..."

What success?
Stats, going 12-5, being 2nd seed , they see all that as success, and being on the rim !! Jerry was thinking they are close, for those years.
Why jerry let so many walk last year , is confusing since he thought they were close and wanted to keep winning.
But for some reason, maybe to make mike look bad, he threw a wrench in the wheel, most of us saw it.

Now he wants to continue on same course, just with a new captain ! lol.
Next season and maybe the off season will be interesting.

"The simple conversation I had with (owner) Jerry (Jones), post the decision of Mike walking, was simply that, the continuity," Prescott said. "They wanted to keep continuity. Obviously had a lot of success with this group, with these men, and knew this was important to me. And Shotty has been a huge factor in that, setting up the game plan, creating the game plan.

"If you wanted to find continuity in place, look no further than Shotty."
This confirms everyone's suspicions and has removed the benefit of the doubt for "Schotty". This is throwing good money after bad money. Dak can't handle this kind of pressure. This only makes it worse for him.

My issue with Schottenheimer is the players are too comfortable with him. Is he going to demand respect and discipline? Plus he’s never been great as an OC and he will probably be the play caller.

IDK if people are being intentionally obtuse or not? They obviously mean putting out top 5 offense consistently until last year. Dak has had a top 5 offense when healthy every year since Schotty has been here.

I keep saying , Dak is the most expensive mistake the cowboys ever made. Most expensive player in the NFL !! , No playoff success , No leadership , folds in big games , turnover machine if the run game doesn’t work , killed so many coaching careers and wide receivers careers.

Qak got it backward. Schott's future is tied to him.

Maybe their futures are tied to each other?

Whatever the case, they have to find a way to make it work.

Yeah, they need to look at the root word, and realize we don't want things to "continue" the way they've been going.
They are going to get some good backs and run the football to set up the play action pass.
