most of us? like who. there were a lot of people who said he wasn't, just wish we would have signed him sooner....including stephen Jones.

but to your point, yes, Watson was 2nd highest paid, until Dak got paid. now Allen, Jackson, Wilson, and whole slew of young QBs are about to cash in....its the way the NFL works.

Its almost like we need to have this explenation on a hot key....how many times now does this need to be said? Every QB not named Brady is overpaid if Brady isn't the highest paid QB in the NFL....there its cleared up no need to discuss this anymore..

So it's all on the defense? The offense has been so efficient that they never have any turnovers and no 3 and outs? Every time Dak is on the field they are constantly putting out long drives that give the defense plenty of rest? That's not even close to being true.

I agree the defense has not been good, but neither has the offense at times. Here's an interesting stat someone should look up - over the past few years how many times has the offense screwed up and given the defense little to no rest, short fields, etc.?

not all on defense....but you can't deny lat year the defense was historically bad, that took the offense out of its game plan....every team has a turnover, every QB throws an interception..including Brady who threw a pick 6 in a game...yet they ended up winning because the defense held..

with that said, disclaimer, I am not comparing Dak to Brady, just an example of what happens to other QBs.....

2020- dallas ranked 27th in TOP with 28.21...make sense with Dalton playing most of the year

2019 - we were 18th.....with 29.32

2018 - 10th with 30.35

2017 - 12th with 30.12

so. not as bad as you say it is.....

in regards to short field, I think part of that also had to with our special teams, being amongs the worst in the NFL....I think in 2019 we were 32nd ranked special teams....and its a two way issue, one not giving offense a good field position and 2 not keeping the opposition deep in their end zone.

And that’s pretty much the norm . Most QB except for the Elite on the better teams don’t fare as well against the better teams.

Look at what we did in 2019. We averaged 35 points in our 8 wins and about 17 points in our 8 losses.

Not sure why some fans are expecting more from Dak and this Cowboys team?

It will be interesting how Stafford does this season. If he wins say 12 games then it pretty much shows that he wasn't the problem in Detroit yet his lack of winning games would suggest otherwise.

I look at stats in wins and losses and here is how Dak has done:


In 42 Wins Dak's stats: 880 of 1270 for a Comp % of 69.29% 10,748 Yards 76 TD's 11 INT's

In 27 Losses Dak's stats: 634 of 1023 for a Comp % of 61.97% 6,886 Yards 30 TD's 29 INT's

So for those who say Dak isn't to blame for losses how do you explain such a huge stat differential????

I always thought dak was inconsistent and was his biggest flaw, but now seeing this , it changes my view of him.

This is interesting, it would seem most losses occur when dak throws more ints than usual .
30 TD's 29 INT's is pretty telling and bad, that is about like the guy they run out of TB?
also way less yds , lower comp% , means dak is having games where his passing is pretty bad and they always lose those games!
30 Td's also shows the team and dak cant score very good, in fact they are bad at it compared to scoring in the games they win lol. From 76 to 30 is a huge drop off.
But dak will have a up game or 2 and fans and jerry forget all the losses.

But somehow some here blame all the losses on the defense?
If the defense is to blame, how do they explain the 42 wins lol and that dak passed good in those?
This also shows that the jones boys analyze the team and players and results like fans do , and they felt like dak
was great and the problem was the defense not dak , so now they are trying to build a better defense, which cant hurt,
and will make for more wins, but when they get to the playoffs they still might fold like a tent.
Because there is a problem jones boys are just not seeing.

This makes it simple
Dak plays passes good they win
Dak plays passes badly they lose

That was a list provided based on the criteria another member asked but yes, if you look than guys below Dak have better win % such as Mahomes, Jackson, and Allen to name a few.
