lol @ the senior citizens attacking theebs for having the audacity to stand at a football game *gasp* and not wanting to sit down because grandma and grandma are too fat and lazy and old to stand up for ten minutes without shattering their pelvis.

Keep on keepin' on, theebs.

If you want an event where you can go and sit through the entire thing, go be a member of the audience on The View, and stay away from sporting events and concerts.

I like going to the games in person once a year. But gosh people are so annoying. They obstruct your view and distract you in so many ways. Yell, scream, jump, do cartwheels, but damn don’t block my view! And the isles are so narrow, u have to basically get up every time someone wants to get by which seems non-stop. Honestly, i like the rule the Chiefs have. I mean you don’t have to stand up to make noise.

Sounds like it to me.

So blocking someones view for an extended period of time is cool?

Here's a thought...WTH do you think they put the seats there to begin with???

Good Lord!

The lines to the toilet there are horrendous.

One time I was watching a Braves vs. Phillies game and they escorted a guy out for taunting Bobby Abreu. The taunt? He was yelling "Abreu."

Good. You should have been made to sit down. the arrogance of some people who think their dollar they spent for the ticket is worth more than someone else's is obscene.

And for the mere fact the guy and his wife actually wanted to see the game and not the back of your jersey you wanted to strangle him.

Great fan you are. Way to represent.

If the guy was truly 10 rows above him and complained, then they weren't doing anything wrong and that guy is a colossal douchebag.

Sounds like the guy just didn't like the guys standing, not that he couldn't see.

the plaintiff was 10 rows up from the defendant, your honor. I fail to see how he was blocking their view.

Myself and doctor 32 had a guy come up to us during the first quarter of the Dallas New Orleans game two years ago and ask us to sit down because he couldnt see.

He was about 10 rows behind and above us. The cowboys were on defense. We were standing up and yelling and clapping. The guy taps me on the shoulder and tells me his wife and himself could not see the field and that he didnt buy a ticket to look at the back of his jersey.

both of us wanted to strangle him. He went and got the usher, which is a 17 year old 100 lb girl at texas stadium and she told us to sit down. We told her no way and she got security. We told them we were just clapping when they were on defense and standing up and they asked us to sit down.

meanwhile the moron left after reggie bush scored to start the third.

I dont understand people. IN many cities that guy would have been heckled beyond belief for asking us that, but in Dallas the fans all just kind of mind their business.

If you are not going to stand and cheer why go to the game?

agreed, the fans that be at the stadium are to quiet.

Here's the thing I find hard to believe. Some guy goes to a game with his wife. He picks out two guys who is ten rows in front of him. Knowing full well he can see over these guys he decides, with his wife there, to go down and confront TWO guys and order them to sit down. Taking the chance he would get his butt kicked by two guys.

Tell me you don't really believe that do you? Then he says he was so mad he wanted to strangle them but yet, he composed himself and said, "just go sit down and enjoy the game.

So I figure the guy was probably directly behind him and after being asked to sit he either ignored him out of disrespect or flipped him off or something, which then led the man to go tell the usher or security.

That's a lot more plausible than the original story.

I agree with this.

I don't pay money to see the back of some jerk's jersey.

Sure I stand... big plays, critical thirds downs, deep passes (which is when everyone stands)... but if it's 7-7 2nd and 8 in the middle of the 2nd quarter, and you've been standing the whole time...

I'm gonna ask you to sit down...

Theebs says that the other guy is not a real fan because he left early in the 3rd... my guess, is he left because he couldnt see!

I am with theebs on this one. Stand and cheer your team. If I am sitting and the guy in front of me stands up, you know what I do...I stand up as well. Damn, people act like they can't stand up becuase its so much work. Loose some damn weight, get in shape and stand up and cheer your team on. If you want to sit down with an unobstructed view keep you butt at home.

LOL @ this thread.

I don't know what goes on inside Texas stadium, but every game I've been to (be it College basketball, NBA, etc) I rarely sit.

And I've never been asked to "sit down."

That's part of the atmosphere of attending large sporting events: the atmosphere. That includes both CHEERING, BOOING, and gasp.....standing.

Do you ask people to stop cheering during the game because the noise is too loud? No. Don't expect people to sit.

Except, by the sounds of it, Texas Stadium.

What the hell are the Chiefs doing?

I've always wanted to go to Arrowhead Stadium.... they are supposed to have the greatest atmosphere in the NFL....and now they are ruining it?

GG Chiefs. GG.

alright dude. You buy a ticket and enjoy the game the way you want to.

I did nothing that was inconsiderate. I dont want to be a part of the kind of crowd at an nfl game you described though.

and no I wont be bullied. Every week there are different people in my aisle. All they do is get up and get food and drinks. Right in the middle of plays. Its absurd. Go to a restaraunt. I always tell people wait till the play is over and I will happily move for you and every year i get at least one drunk guy who becomes a tough guy and tells me what his ticket costs and how he will get up when he wants too. It never fails. There is no reason to get up right when the ball is snapped to go get food, every 10 minutes. That is inconsiderate and plainly stupid.

Anyone else find the hypocrisy in a guy puffing up his chest when someone has the audacity to request he sit down so they can see, and then the same guy turning around and telling others when they can and can't go get a snack or use the bathroom.

I am positive that this tough guy act is strictly reserved for the accountants of the world who want to get their daughter a snack, and not the fan that looks like he could jump on the field and pass block.

So the argument isn't whether people have the right to ask someone to alter their behavior so as to better enjoy the game.....but it's really just that everyone needs to live by this D-bag's rules.

Just sounds like you need your ***-kicked.

*I imagine a tiny little guy with a mullet driving a giant pick'em-up truck saying things like, "If you ain't like me, go hang from a dayum tree!"*

Oh give me a break.

Most of the people stand when they are at the games.

What about the people who are so fat they cant even fit into their seat comfortably? 2 can play that game.

If you pay for a ticket that is your space. You can do what you want. Sit, stand, or what ever.

I got asked to sit down when Emmitt Smith broke the rushing record while the other 79,000 stood and cheered.

Get real people. Your at a football game.

Plus when someone asks you to sit down you usually have the people in front of you standing as well. If the majority is standing than just stand your butt up.

You know i'm all for being considerate, but if a fellow Cowboy fan wants to stand then that's my cue to stand also. If I don't want to stand and cheer my team, then I'll have some of my view blocked. I can live with that, it's my choice not to stand.

I think at some point a person has to realize if he's leaving his living room to watch a game he is going to be inconveinenced. He should be happy that Theebs is such an enthusiastic supporter.

if someone is disabled they have places for them to view the game, in the new stadium they'll be able to see the video boards, so I will be even less empathetic to the seated persons plight.

Now about the concert, If i'm wasting my time at a concert then my wife drug me along so I don't care what you do there.

You gotta understand.

The people who complain about standing are either lazy or old.

Standing is probably a ***** for them.

They should stay at home and watch the game.

I waited on purpose to post in this thread since they are my practically in my backyard. It's beyond stupid to me why they are doing this. I'm not surprised by some of the responses.

This is a small market team but has a very strong following and their fans really get into the Chefs big time. You can guess how this news flies around here. Carl Peterson proves that he is an idiot over and over again.

Well we play them in a couple of years. If this game is in KC I'm going. One thing I can guarantee you, I will have my Cowboy gear on and I will be standing and screaming my our team.

Agreed.

There are times I don't want to stand at a sporting event (like when I am extremely drunk). But I never ask anyone to sit. I just stand up, hang onto the nearest friend to balance, and cheer......
