While that's been true in recent years, remember when Jerry first came in, he was a maverick, often being buddy-buddy with Al Davis and ruffling Taglibue's feathers. Fought the NFL hard over several issues, like apparel sales, liquor sales, and other things.
Right.... he sued about Pepsi and Nike and AMeX and fought over local radio and revenue

But then he made billions and became the Man and not the Wildcatter

ASFIK, the reports were over a failed test. The notice of discipline was delayed until the other suspension ran it's course. So that would have been around the time of the Lions game. The timeline makes it pretty obvious that the next suspension was moved up due to the playoffs and according to their own policy the earliest his appeal could be heard would be after the next game. Potentially against the team who's owner oversaw this miscarriage of justice.
The report was Gregory failed/misses another test in November while still serving his 10 game suspension

He then chose to appeal and his hearing was held Jan 3rd......the answer was given on Jan 5th

The answer or verdict may have been rushed a little because of the playoffs

Than why is Floyd not having a rushed because of the playoffs hearing?

Getting drunk and falling asleep at the wheel is 100x worse than smoking weed.

Not in the NFL universe. And certainly not if you play for a northeast team.

Until until the players develop a little backbone and stand up to the league, these kind of things will continue to happen...unfortunately the onus is on the players themselves to change things.

Until things change Gregory has 2 choices...give up weed or give up football.

He should give up weed until his football playing days are done, and I'm not real confidant that he won't miss more test during his current suspension, if Jerry is serious about wanting him to succeed he best find him a job to keep Gregory occupied, and get him a support system...

No surprise. Suh's suspension was overturned against us 2 years which as b.s. The front office loves jerking us around. Especially that fine we got some years back because we supposedly manipulated the salary cap.
We did manipulate the salary cap but it wasn't against the rules at the time. Jones was just smarter than the other owners and thus was consequenced for it because it created an unfair playing field in free agency. The owners , Mara mostly, pushed for the consequences since the Boys had a lot of money to spend if they were not.

There was no salary cap to manipulate.

Why would the notice be delayed until after the suspension. That makes no sense at all.

There were numerous reports of the suspension before that.

Maybe I don't understand because I'm not wearing a tinfoil hat

And it's on video for the whole world to see.

Those were news reports.
The NFL made it clear that he was not yet suspended when the team attempted to have him practice early.

They couldn't comment on the record about anything in regards to Randy Gregory and a potential/looming suspension until the appeal was heard. The NFL was not speaking in error, because until the appeal was heard, he wasn't suspended.

I would hang on to that card in the event of a zeke BS suspension.

I think they might challenge bigger issue of marijuana which is essentially legalized in US but still deemed illegal by NFL. The NBA no longer test for it.
