Just the threat of going to Federal Court is enough to get a more favorable outcome

Jerry usually sides with protecting the League

Not really. He sided with them in the Miles Austin case because to bring collusion charges would undermine the league and destroy any leverage they had in labor negotiations. He gives support in rhetoric but that costs him nothing and gains favor.

I think they might challenge bigger issue of marijuana which is essentially legalized in US but still deemed illegal by NFL. The NBA no longer test for it.
Hollywood doesn't test for it either. The NBA is 100% in the entertainment business. Football still pretends to be a legitimate sport.

Than why is Floyd not having a rushed because of the playoffs hearing?

Getting drunk and falling asleep at the wheel is 100x worse than smoking weed.
Floyd was arrested Dec 15th.......going by the Gregorian calendar his appeal hearing would be sometime in late Jan or early Feb if he was already informed of his suspension.........but sometimes they even wait until the criminal case is settled

Find a way to get it delayed a month so he can play through the playoffs.

First off, the Supreme court is the last resort after the lower courts rulings and second, they aren't wasting their time on this case, they didn't waste their time on Tom Brady's case...

I am almost embarassed for you and tyk for taking that comment as if it were serious. Almost.

Didn't Brady go to court over deflategate?
The NFL actually filed first and I heard they still offered to knock 2 games off if he took a settlement

Brady was the one that said..... he wanted to fully clear his name

True and I think that is why the other owners were upset with what Jones did.

If I recall, many of the owners didn't really care at the end of the day. It was only a few that pushed it, one being Mara, who was quite vocal about what he thought of the Cowboys and Commanders and who many in the media was the one who pushed it through the management council.

While that's been true in recent years, remember when Jerry first came in, he was a maverick, often being buddy-buddy with Al Davis and ruffling Taglibue's feathers. Fought the NFL hard over several issues, like apparel sales, liquor sales, and other things.

Understood. So you can see why they do what they do.

But.... Jerry is no biotch so why does he take it?

This... and Romo getting pummeled and no flags?

Why? I don't know the details.
Because he is suing everyone and has a few good points......the NFL app didn't flag the substance he took......they didn't have enough arbitrators at his hearing......the NFLPA gave him bad counsel... they told him he "should just burn up a bunch of money" instead of appealing

Everybody keeps bringing up the "well don't smoke weed" objection. That is not the point here. The point is the punishment playing field is glaringly not even here. There needs to be some consistency across the league.

You know, like the Floyd point. So it's ok for this guy to drive so drunk he passes out at a light? He can still play football? Yet Gregory smokes some green and GASP, let's throw the book at him. Last I checked drunk driving has killed people. Weed hasn't.

He lost a ton of guaranteed money as well.

We did manipulate the salary cap but it wasn't against the rules at the time. Jones was just smarter than the other owners and thus was consequenced for it because it created an unfair playing field in free agency. The owners , Mara mostly, pushed for the consequences since the Boys had a lot of money to spend if they were not.

The owners also wanted to collude against the players . That's why there was this whole "spirit" of the Salary cap Bs that Mara pushed. JJ and DS didn't go along and they paid the price. Yet some clubs didn't even spend to the floor of the cap or "spirit" of that cap. It was a witch hunt and Mara again won. This league has become such a joke.

Floyd is different the league treats events like that differently than it treats drug testing. The question is more about Bell than Floyd, how is he getting reduced sentences and more importantly not getting treated as if it's multiple offenses.

Honestly, if he is suspended for something he done, then let him be suspended. No getting him off on a technicality!

Wanna play then stay clean. Let's move in as a team.
