NFL would consider ban on 3-point stance

lol, Goodell is a moron, he needs his head checked for concussion.

I can see it now, Superbowl 80 will be in Istanbul, Turkey, the QB will wear a pink skirt and the linemen will simply slap at each other (only allowed to touch hands and not allowed to take a step) while backs and receivers are only allowed to jog or walk through the play.

They call that the "Pro Bowl" and it happened last weekend.

Yup, next year the d-line will only rush after the 3rd Mississippi.
Well, that should escalate offensive scoring per game by 200% (if only that).

And, to further reduce the effects of deceleration trauma that players often receive upon striking the playing field, the NFL is considering replacing astro turf with bubble wrap over a bed of styrofoam peanuts...

Cleats would also be outlawed because it may pop the bubble wrap or possibly poke someone in the eye. All footwear will be replaced with the less offensive, and more NFL appropriate, ballet slippers.

Bowing to pressure from P.E.T.A. the NFL has also decided to replace the totally barbaric, "pigskin" footballs with the kinder & gentler Nerf footballs.
At least until someone, somewhere, begins protesting for the ethical treatment of Nerfs.

In other news...

Well done. :laugh2:

Holy crap....just do away with Football.....it's a barbaric sport anyway - Goodell

Raise your hand if you don't understand that this would be voted on by the owners?

Go on now, lets see those hands.

this people are idiots... 3 point stance causing concussions ?

I'm speechless.

Do lineman typically get many concussions from hitting someone out of a 3 point stance?.

Absolutely not. There's just not enough room to generate that much force. D-linemen are too busy using their hands to try to get away from O-linemen and O-linemen are too busy using their hands trying to catch the D-linemen, on most plays.

As a matter of fact, one of Charles Haley annedocts proves the complete opposite. His story goes that when he was a rookie, or 2nd year player, he was playing against the Rams when he lined as a DE with his hand on the ground ( 3 point stance ). The ball was snapped and he went straight at Jackie Slater, the Rams All Pro LT. As he was about to push Jackie back Haley said that, Slater, who was on a 2 point stance before the ball snapped, headbutted him so hard that he ( Haley ) " saw Jesus ".. Erick Williams used to do the same thing.

THOSE plays are the more likely to cause concussions and they come from a TWO point stance.

This people are grasping at straws.

That's because you've lined up in too many three point stances...

Just another reason to hate Goddell. I wish he would quit. He is the worst thing to happen to the NFL.

Unfortunately, the NFL Commissioner has good intentions, he's just an idiot. It's FOOTBALL!!!!! You cannot eliminate injuries, whether they be concussions or otherwise. Damn, I miss Roselle.
