Maybe he'll go in and wow them with his uber leet Madden skills like he did to Jerruh.

Lion Management: So, Jason, what sort of vision do you see yourself bringing to Detroit?

Garrett: Well, let me start by taking you into how I have won 18-and-counting straight Super Bowls in Madden. ....

Yeah, but does he call the plays or does he just "Ask Madden?"

He strikes me as the type that calls the hail mary every play.

how many times in 2 years did garrett do this?

i think many fans rush to the desire to be "cute" makes them say things that have no factual basis, but gives them the warm "i just wet myself" feeling anyway they seem to need right now.

You know as well as I do that Ginger is infatuated with the deep ball.

wild, this IGS who yells a lot.

i like garrett, but garrett is a long term project being pushed ahead too fast. we take our time w/romo but throw garrett out there ASAP.

he's not ready. this isn't to say he can't be a good/great coach. i for one think he will be. but he's still learning and needs a few more years.

dallas is the worst place in the league when it comes to patience. we either have faith in garrett long term and realize he's going to make mistakes or we jump ship and run to todays bright young mind.

fans bear no responsibility for the team, but they can shout a lot. jones has to do what's right long term and i'm not convinced jumping around coach to coach at the 1st sign of trouble is a good idea.

we threw a lot of coaches together to get this staff going. maybe we should just give them time to find their own place with each other. sans special teams and defense coord - we can swap those out. : )

garrett is long term. we're an IGS fanbase. garrett will one day be successful but if up to the fans it won't be here.

There's really nothing anyone can do about it. No one can prevent an OC from becoming a HC on another team. It's all up to Garrett...blame him if he doesn't want to stick around.

It is such a short walk from the penthouse to the outhouse. As recently as the 4th week of the season there were folks calling for Phillips head and promoting Garrett in the middle of the season. In the same manner when Charlie Weis was hired at Notre Dame from New England, he was touted as the premire offensive mind in the game. I guess people think that over the course of a bad season or so they forget how to coach football. This is the reason I do not post as much as some people would like me to. I understand that we are all upset as we should be, but it takes at least 3 years in an offense to run it with precision and effectiveness. Give it some time we just ended season 2. Its real easy to jump on the bandwagon when things are great, but I would hope that Dallas fans would stand by their team in the midst of adversity better than this.

Just imagine how much he underutilizes the rotate-any-player-into-the-game-at-any-time feature Madden has. Poor Felix probably gets screwed in Garrett's Madden franchise, too.

totally agree here. he may well leave and many IGS fans will have a wonderful day. garrett will need to do what's best for him and if that's a HC job, i wish him well. i think he's 2-3 years away from being a successful one and the fans simply won't give him that time. it's up to jones and garrett however, not the fans. if he stays i may have to leave teh forums again for awhile just to avoid the wah-parade.

I agree
and to add to that, I will make a small wager that if Garrett does leave, he will end up doing very well....with another organization.

Just like Sean Payton, Bill Parcells, and Chan Gailey, who are ALL doing very well with other organizations.

This hot pile of crap, excluding players like Witten and Ware, was assembled by Jerry Jones.

The RW trade debacle alone would have been any other GM's exit ticket....you think he would have learned from the Galloway trade.

I for one will be sorry to see Garrett leave and do well with another Club.

Be careful what you wish for people.

I can only imagine the reactions here should Garrett go elsewhere and do a good job. You fickle folks would be slamming Jones faster than a flea jumps to bite a dogs arse.

Iceberg, my problem with your patience request is this. Romo was given time to develop on the bench. We didn't wade around with him as our starting quarterback through several three-win seasons as he learned the game.

Garrett's not so lucky though. We couldn't hire him here and stash him away as some QB coach. It was OC or nothing. Unfortunately, he's clearly not ready for the role, yet it's a role he has to assume here in order to be here. And it's proving to be to the detriment of our franchise.

We used to have a respected offensive voice in Sparano to at least help him along. We don't have that anymore.

Something has to give.

Exactly, this learning on the fly stuff is a joke. You either produce, or you ****. This offense doesnt play anywhere near up to its potential, and some of Garretts playcalling is mindboggling to the point of disbelief.

but those are our choices, are they not? be patient and stay true? run at 1st sign of trouble?

so far i see a lot of people wanting to run. where they don't know, but away is the ticket. it's a fools "run" to just do it because and not have a plan. jones put this plan in place last year and it worked well sans 1 playoff game. the one where the eventual superbowl champ beat us. now we have some talk and some trouble, RUN AWAY comes up.

you can be as fickle as you'd like. nothing i can do there. but we giggle at the skins fans for never seeing anything through then we come around and demand change.

you know, just change.

i'm not sure what i'd like to see. i think garrett will be a good coach but not here. i hate that but understand that. but if we give up so soon, we're the skins and i hope we laugh at ourselves as much as we've laughed at teh coaching carousel snyder has done.
