Dallas want to keep Ware. And sources told them Ware is open to reducing his salary and wants to stay in Dallas, but what is not know is how much he is willing to cut. Will not be in Dallas if a salary cut doesnt happen.

I respect anyone who wants DWARE in a Cowboy uniform (at a reduced rate) next season, but I'm ready to move on to a younger player....Just my opinion
And I can respect your point of view also.
The arguments for and against have been hashed and rehashed over and over so I don't see the need to get into it with anyone.
Just respect for your POV.

People who are all about just cutting Ware and not even keeping an open mind to him taking a paycut to 8 mil are them maddenholics. The smartest thing Dallas could do is try everything they could to get Ware to play for that 8mil number, since thats what would count against the cap anyways if he's cut. Why would a fan want the Cowboys to just cut Ware and have 8mil in dead money, instead having him play for the Cowboys for that same 8mil? Lol and these people have the nerve to question Jerry Jones.

If Ware stay lets hope its reduced to the 5-6 range and not the 9-10 range.

I think $6M+ with hard to reach performance incentives in case he blows up the QB sacks/pressures again up to $8-9M is a reasonable common ground for a new 3 year deal.

I think it's going to be between those two areas.

I'm guessing 7 mil this year... Saving a little over $5 mil against the cap this year.

6 mil next year... Saving a little over $7 mil against the cap next year.

maybe, i dont know, lets try another persons point of view. Maybe the so called you people you need to label are tired of watching Ware run past the QB instead of AT the qb. Just for giggles, and im not saying im no fan of Wares, I was before he was drafted, but again, im just throwing it out there, lets say , (since we all have medical degrees) he isnt fully healthy and has to play another year hurt, is that worth paying for? Is his tally for last years sacks and if hes still hurt, his tally for sacks this year, worth paying for?

Let me toss this train of thought at you. We arent making the playoffs, i stood by that sentiment last year, and im still with it this year, so why keep Ware, when it we can get a younger guy in his position, get him some experience in a season going no where, and when this team is willing or capable of performing at the next level, hopefully the young guy is ready to go. Is that an option, or am i just a maddenholic? Thinking, one day its going to come back.

If Ware reduces his salary I can be open to coming back, if he's looking at JUST a restructure then we have no choice but to part ways. At some point one side is going to have to make a tough decision. I wonder who strikes first.

Thats fine and dandy. But if you can keep Ware and rotate him with a young DE, and have Ware play for the cost of cutting him and at the same time develop that DE to replace him, wouldnt that be alot better then just wasting 8mil of the cap for nothing? what is the win scenario of cutting Ware willing to play for what you will have as dead money? As opposed as a team just eating 8mil while that player just goes and signs with another team while taking ur 8mil. Thats the difference in thinking between owner and fan.

Because the Cowboys save 18 million dollars in 2015. This move that will happen is a sure sign that Jerry has not changed. Keeping Ware means more money in Jones pocket and hurts the Cowboys. Lets enjoy 2014 and hope to go big because we will pay the price in 2015 and thereafter.

This team needs to do all it can to keep as many pass rushers as they can. So if they can get Ware number down to 6-8 million and still draft another young pass rusher I'm ALL for it..

It shouldn't be too difficult.

Demarcus Ware is currently sitting with a $12.25M base salary.

The largest base salary Ware's ever had was $7.8M in 2010 during the uncapped season.

Ware made $7.2M in 201, $4.5M in 2012 and $6M in 2013, though his salary was lowered to the minimum each year with the difference given in a signing bonus.

Ware's average pay over the past four seasons was $6.375M.

So, if Ware's 2014 salary is cut in half to $6.125M, it would still be more than he made last year.

Ware's 2015 base salary ($13.75M) can be reduced to $6.75M.

Dallas would save $13.125M against the cap and in actual dollars the next two years while Ware could make $12.875M.

And I have no doubt Ware stands to make a lot more taking a pay cut from the Dallas Cowboys over the next two seasons than he stands to get on the open market right now if released.

So Dallas would have 13mil instead of 18. Eating 5 mil in 2015 and having a 2nd yr DE ready to take over instead of 8Mil dead in 2014 and have to draft for need in a weak DE class seems alot better IMO.

You and I are in agreement way too much the last couple of days... :)
