Well that's just down right blasphemous right there.:

yea, i have my moments. : )

good video clip. i'd definately call him elusive.

emmitt could make people miss - sure. but if sayers did it on a level of 10 where would you put emmitt? i'd give sanders a 9 on this scale and emmitt a 5 or 6.

Running over people and having other people too scared to get in your way isn't elusive, that's just badass.:D

"When Earl ran, snot flew, I haven't seen any snot fly yet."
-- Darrell Royal when asked to compare Butch Hadnot to the Tyler Rose

"I don't know if Earl's in a class by himself, but it sure don't take long to call roll."
-- Bum Phillips on Earl Campbell

Elusive, try Fran Tarkington. A QB I know, but this guy made folks look silly.

On an off topic note, that cartoon in your sig is funny. It reminds me of book I got when I was like six. It has my name edited into the book, anyway the story goes, the super bowl starts between the Cowboys and 49ers (I know its bad editing since they can't play each other in the super bowl) anyway its close the whole game and Troy Aikman goes down and I am the back up quarterback and I go in to lead the Cowboys to a victory, but then I wake up and realize it was all a dream. But I'm not sad because I woke up right before the kick-off of the game.

Haha, sorry I added nothing to the conversation but I just thought I would share that. Carry on.

The only thing elusive about a Jim Brown run were the defenders trying to get the hell out of his way.

I'm late, but....:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

What a stupid list.

Having two of the top running backs ever, and who have the most yards ever, NOT on the list (Payton and Smith) reeks of asininity.

Payton or Emmitt are not in the top ten when it comes to "elusiveness" which is what this topic/thread is about.

Being the best does not necessarily equate to being the most elusive.

Emmitt Smith doesn't belong on the list, I agree.

Walter Payton's case is more complicated.

Payton was very elusive in the first 4 years or so of his career. But he played 12 years and became more physical and less elusive as time went on. To his considerable credit, he remained effective despite changing his game.

Had Walter Payton's career been as short as Gale Sayers', Payton would be remembered as one of the more ellusive RBs ever.
