No offense, but this made me laugh. If you have read the transcripts posted here or the transcripts of Greg Hardy's hearing (also posted on this site) the words "expert panel" don't belong within a million miles of Henderson. He is a Yes Man that delivers whatever the NFL tells him to deliver. He may be an expert at cashing checks, but that is it.

I understood his statement on upholding the appeal as there not being any new evidence, so that's all he could review.

But, there was new evidence.

1. FLA cop who Roberts/Friel/Goodell never heard from because they swept his call to the NFL under the rug. He testified that in the February 2016 incident that Tiffany Thompson was completely not credible for various reasons. He also counters Friel's main argument of EE 'lying' by saying that TT wasn't his girlfriend as TT told him they were 'friends with benefits.'

2. The forensic pathologist who claimed that you couldn't tell anything from those photos. You couldn't tell when they occurred and what they were from. Another key argument to the case and the doctor the NFL reviewed...agreed.

3. The videotape of Thompson repeatedly trying to smash in her own car window on the week in question.

4. The testimony of Macy Hewitt, who got into the fight with Thompson that the NFL admittedly didn't even know her name.

Henderson could have said that he reviewed those and felt that the commissioner's case would be the same (which is a typical comment from a stooge), but instead he said that there was no reason to review the evidence essentially because there wasn't anything new...which is completely false.

i'm not an attorney but he's saying instead of a temporary restraining order (TRO) and then having a hearing to see if they will put an injunction on the suspension, judge might just go straight to injunction to block the suspension. if that's the case, instead of another hearing with judge mazzant, nfl would then appeal the decision to the court of appeals.

These judges have feelings about how the NFL is investigating players and basically accusing them of serious crimes and using the CBA to ignore the well established laws of Due Process.
A judge who sees 2 different police departments and a lead NFL paid investigator all agree that TT is lying and not credible enough to charge Zeke with a crime can't be in favor of Goodell, Friel and the Kangaroo Court they are running in NYC.

The little nugget ai took from the Will Cain tweets is that the Texas docket is very busy meaning if he grants the TRO/PI, it will take quite a while to complete the process. I'm pretty sure Zeke's lawyers already knew this and is part of the reason they chose Texas.

Myself I just want fairness. Vast majority of the time I have no problem with punishments that have been handed down even Cowboy players. Player knows the rules about drug use or performance drugs and are caught and suspended I have never once complained about the leagues authority to suspended those who violate league rules. In this situation it is different because they are taking the word of a person who has asked others to lie for them, who has been shown as lacking credibility, where there is sworn statements of others that paint a different picture than what she has claimed. The fact the evidence she is showing are her own pictures not those of medical staff who would have documented and examined her. There are so many reason she give for more than reasonable doubt. The league is picking and choosing what evidence they will look at and critical evidence including from their own lead investigator that they are dismissing.

Honestly this has little to do with Zeke or the Cowboys it has to do with what I see in complete unfairness by the league.

That was a great point about the NFL ignoring sworn affidavits, sworn statements and even ignoring the Florida police but instead putting more faith in the statements of Thompson, who never gave a sworn statement, never faced any tough questions and the only person who interviewed her for the NFL wasn't even allowed to discuss the matter with Goodell or the panel.

Even if the NFL wants to continue to try to argue they put little value in her statements, they put some value in it, hence why she was interviewed 6 times by the NFL.

What due process? The process is essentially:
1. The leauge investigates
2. The league makes disciplinary decision
3. Appeal reviewed by expert panel
4. Final decision

It sucks, but thems the rules. Zeke and his team have to prove conspiracy or kick rocks.

Exactly.

I still entertain the possibility that he did do something here. I mean he's shown questionable judgment in other cases.

But the leap to calling someone a woman abuser is a MASSIVE leap and that's a stigma that doesn't go away. For the NFL to essentially call him that with little to any concrete evidence simply for their own PR purposes is a disgrace and they need to burn for it.

I had some doubts about his representation before Kessler joined the team. I feel like if he had been there the whole time this thing might already be over.

I completely agree with you. And don't forget the awful precedent that the league would be setting for each and every other player in the league.

They'd effectively be putting a target on everynone of them for the next gold-digging opportunist to make up stories to get their hands on that player's money too.

And when the league has adopted a guilty until proven innocent stance as they have clearly done here, every player in the league is at risk of extortion.

I really want to bet you on this

The problem is that people don't really understand the law. They just assume that because there is a CBA in place that trumps everything but as I heard a lawyer mention on TV a few days ago, while CBAs give the nitty gritty of how a union/employer relationship works, a CBA still has to operate within the boundaries of labor laws. So while the NFL has a CBA that gives Goodell wide latitude here, the CBA doesn't give him carte blanche to just punish anyone based on his own ***** and giggles. He still has to operate within the confines of labor law and in this case, there is an argument to be made that he did not conduct a fair hearing, which labor law would require.
