NHL FA thread...

I honestly think either way, whether they match or not, they are screwed. Homer didn't make this easy for them, that's for sure. Probably alot of f bombs being dropped at his expensive in the Nashville GM's office right now, ha.

I definitely agree with that. Their fans aren't gonna care about the picks. All they'll know is their two all world defensemen are gone and their team can't compete right now. If they do match they will have completely over extended themselves and will be hard pressed to keep a good supporting cast around Weber.

It's going to be interesting to see what they do.

Yep, they are pretty screwed...

Nash traded to NYR Dubinsky, Erixson, a 1st and Anisimov.

CLB on full blown rebuild.

Excited about Rick Nash to Rangers. Can't wait til the season now.

Ahh, knew the Rangers were going to get something good this offseason. Lets hope Doan comes here.

The Rangers answer the potential Weber signing.

Nice.

This division is ridiculous.

I saw a report this morning that said the Rangers plan was to add both Nash and Doan.

Apparently they went all out on Weber too but he chose Philly because he didn't want to live in Manhattan.

I read that as well.. not a big city guy.

Nashville matched the offer. No Weber for you.

I'm sure most Flyers fans will be bummed but we're better off keeping those picks.

Two 1st round picks, a 2nd and a 3rd isn't that much considering those picks will always be in the last 5-7 picks of each round.

Especially for Weber.

How long until every person on the Flyers beat is fired?

Tomorrow wouldn't be soon enough.. no one wants to come here because the Flyers media group is ridiculous.

Buddy, it's nothing compared to Toronto. lol

I'm a life long Leafs fan, and even i would never want to play for them, mostly due to the media/fans and how crazy they can get.

But that's life of a hockey player.

What's the Islander's excuse, seems as if no one with any talent wants to come here?

I haven't enjoyed hockey in decades. You'd think the team would have figured it out by now. They sort of remind me of the Cowboys, but worse.

Haha, i've never been to Toronto, so i can't comment, but the media here is truly outrageous. You think the fans of the team are bad? lol Hooo buddy, we have the most ridiculous media in terms of scruitinizing every little move each person makes that i've ever seen. That's why Richards isn't here today.. and why Parise and Suter didn't even consider coming here im sure.

I'm OK with Philly not landing Weber.

Im just hoping that after Homer losing out on 3 top tier FA's this offseason he doesn't panic and make some ridiculous trade costing us some very promising young players. We're fine, we'll still be very competitive next year, just get Voracek resigned already and wait until next offseason. Prongs will still be off the books, Timonen's contract will be up, as well as Harnell's. We'll be able to go after top tier guys again next year while maintaining our good young core group of players.

Just need to fire some beat writers before then.. that's all. ;)

You lost me on this. Weber wanted to be here. Nashville matched the offer.

It would have been four 1st round picks.

They are the L.A. Clippers of the NHL. Only the Clippers have now finally gotten respectable.

It was a joke that nobody caught onto.

I was looking for any excuse to bash the Flyers beat writers again, haha.
