well after getting their butts handed to them in game 2, the Pens came back and played an outstanding game tonight. Fleury was a wall. It was good to see the Pens take back home ice. Now they need to win game 4 so they can close this thing out in 5.

Refs tried their darndest to hand the Penguins the game today, both their goals came directly off plays that should have been penalties but they failed and we won 3-2. Series tied at 2, game 5 Saturday night.

whatever...stop complaining about the refs...i felt the game was called pretty fairly. the Cans goalie was a wall. I hate that guy...the Pens had so many great shots and just couldnt get the puck past him in the 3rd......

Please, the CBC announcers are even talking about how unfair the calls have been this series. Game 3, 71 and 87 started the scrum yet we ended up shorthanded.

Game 4, Fedetenko deliberately grabbed Subban's leg to pull him down giving Talbot a breakaway goal. Then on your second one, 87 slew footed Hamrlik which led to a goal. Last game you again had more power plays than we did.

The refereeing has been very one sided in this series, which is no surprise, Pittsburgh teams tend to have the refs in their pocket either it be football or hockey.

We are very undermanned for tonight, missing Markov and Gill on defence. At least we get Spacek back.

If we play our hearts out and get a break or two, we should push it to a seventh game.

well the refs helped your Habs tonight.....a premature whistle as the Pens were shooting took away a goal...it was obvious Halak didnt have the puck secured, but the ref blew the whistle anyway. That goal would have given the Pens a 2-1 lead in the 1st....and eventually a 4-4 tie to end regulation and go to OT.....but its all good. The Pens played poorly in the 3rd and it cost them. Montreal was by far the more aggressive team in the final period.

So back to home ice to try and advance to the ECF.....GO PENS

I hope we can win.....but either way, I will be glad to be rid of Halak...I hate that guy, in the most respectful way.

Crysby's cross check on Plekanec after the final whistle was a total ***** move.

Still way out power played tonight, that has to end some time.

Halak did not have his best game by far but he did enough to send me to seventh heaven.

It's hilarious that Montreal has had nearly every break, every bounce, go completely their way during the postseason, and CCF can't get the refs name out of his mouth.

In both series the refs have waved off huge goals in elimination games. I personally don't know who the Habs are sucking off to get these breaks, but if they beat the Penguins I won't mind as much.

Yet the fact after we went up 1-0 the Penguins had four straight power plays does not factor into the equation?

The Penguins have clearly had the benefit of the calls this series.

The Capitals choked big time and the fact an illegal goal was called back after Knuble interfered with Halak does not change that fact. We still would have won that game even if the illegal goal did not count.

The ref lost sight of the puck last night so the whistle blew. It was no worse than the bogus power plays the Penguins got after we took the lead.

I do laugh how some think oh if those goals had gone in then the rest of the game would have played out the same way. Assuming for the moment the Penguins had scored and we still came back to take the lead, no way the Penguins pull the goalie as early as they did so they probably don't get the Guerin goal at the end. Same with the Capitals series, we would have been up 2-1 instead of 2-0 so we would have played more tightly and not allowed the Laich goal.

Crysby should not be yapping all the time, cross checking players after the game, he should be above such actions. I wish Plekanec had just cold cocked him after the cross check.

I figure tomorrow, we will have to kill off more power plays than the Penguins will have to kill off to win the game.

The NHL does favour the Penguins just like the NFL favours the Steelers. Lemieux as an owner stabbed his fellow players in the back by agreeing to a salary cap, was rewarded with Crosby and the refs have been on the Penguins side ever since. Thus is the world made.

We know we will have to beat the Penguins and the zebras tomorrow.

The NHL thinks a Penguin advance is better for the NHL because of Crysby's star power but ultimately for league revenue, having the big revenue Canadiens advance is better. We hold about 3500 more people per game, ergo more ticket revenue as we get more to our games AND charge more. More revenue=better for the NHL, except for the parasites who have trouble hitting the cap floor.

I really want the Penguins to lose, but I think it would be funny if Montreal loses just so I can read CCF's persecution complex - when in reality Montreal has gotten every break imaginable in their two series.

Are you really blind? Every imaginable break? Please.

Capitals, more power plays than us in seven games.

Penguins, more power plays than us in the six games to date.

Yeah, we got every break imaginable.

Please stick to football because it is clear you know nothing about hockey.

Breaks aren't confined to penalties. And the Canadiens have been one of the least penalized teams in the playoffs, spending barely more time in the box than either the Caps or Penguins have. Yet you're *****ing like the difference is ridiculously egregious, and somehow Bettman is involved.

Give us all a break. The Habs have had a horseshoe shoved so far in their *** - despite being completely outclassed by both teams they've played, they continue to have the breaks, have the puck bounce their way and squeak out wins.

Is your real name Phil Jackson? Cause you whine as much he does about the refs. Maybe Montreal shouldnt commit so many penalties.

Pittsburgh has been by far the more aggressive team in this series.....If not for Halak being like the Berlin Wall or the Great Wall of China, the scores to these games would be like 8-1, 9-2, maybe even double digit goals. I mean this guy reminds me so much of Osgood from the 2008 Red Wings. It takes a miracle just to get the puck past the guy.

If you look at shots on goal per game, for the series, and how often the Pens are living in Montreal's end, it makes sense why the Pens get more power plays. The Caps series was the same way for the most part. That is just Montreal's style of play. They tend to let you live on their end, guard the goal like mad, let Halak do his thing, and then try for the occasional break out opportunity.

Plus, you are the 8th seed going up against first the top team in the league, and then the defending Champs. No offense, but if you expect to get the benefit of the calls from either, you need to pick up a new sport to watch.

2 years ago, Detroit was super physical with the Pens. The Pens committed a lot of penalties. Detroit was the top dog in the league. They had the respect of the officials. Pittsburgh beat them last year and now they get the benefit of the calls. I am not saying it is right, fair, or just....it is what it is.

You cannot change it, so why complain about it. Just like us Spurs fans cannot change the fact that Dirk throws himself all around the court and even into his teammates, shoots almost nothing but fade away jump shots, and still shoots more FTs than almost anyone in the NBA...it is what it is, and we just have to accept it and move on.

So stop complaining and just get hyped for what should be one helluva game 7....

GO PENS

It is sickening to see how many shots the Pens have on Halak....and they cant get the puck in. So many rebounds that seem to bounce just beyond the stick of the charging Pen. So many shots that hit the pipe....clang, clang, clang, clang...it is insane how they are just inches away from totally destroying the Habs in this series.....but they just cant seem to get the puck past Halak with enough efficiency to close out this team...so it is on to a game 7.

Crysby? really? did you think of this one all by yourself. I dont see Sid crying at all. In fact, he is out there crashing into the boards, throwing his body around, and doing all he can to help this team win. I do see frustration on his face cause he is struggling with points in this series, but he isnt crying, at least not about the officiating....that would be you....CrynadianCowboysFan. did you see what I did there?

Had that goal counted last night the Pens would have been up 3-1....instead of 2-1 before the Habs started doing their thing. Like you said, we dont know what would have happened. How do we know that the Habs dont press more, get more penalties, allowing for more PP chances for the Pens. How do we know Halak doesnt feel the pressure and then gives up a goal or two more. You dont.....it is all conjecture. All we know is the final was 4-3, and the Pens were robbed of a goal in the 1st. At least the game should have gone to OT.

But like I stated yesterday. Montreal was the more aggressive team in the 3rd. They took it to the Pens and did some damage on the scoreboard. My hats off to them. The Pens have to do a better job of helping out Fleury on those scrambles and get the puck out of his crease.

GO PENS.

Props to the Habs...they came out in game 7 and beat the piss out of my Pens. It was nice of the Pens to be so careless with the puck early and often. The Habs scored almost all of their goals on turnovers....Pittsburgh was lazy with their passes the Habs capitalized....it also didnt help that Gonchar played with zero sense of urgency or passion. It was like he was going through the motions all night. Once again Halak was outstanding.

So now my hockey season is over......well on to next year.

GO PENS
