Completely ridiculous with the so called "drama" in Dallas. Heard a little spoiler before commercial break saying " Dak's next start could spell big trouble". There is NO conflict or drama within our team. They are as focused and mentally tough as I have seen in a long time. So keep trying to fabricate some huge controversy in Dallas NFL Network, ESPN whatever. It aint happening.
They need ratings think about would anybody be interested in let's say DRAMA IN DETROIT Arizona San Francisco Chicago Minnesota Green Bay Oakland KC Denver San Diego Miami Buffalo....... no one cares but when it DRAMA in Dallas everyone pays attention

1. It's their job to "find" stories and any story with Cowboys and a possible controversy is always going to get clicks and ratings

2. With Tony's concession speech-- the team is now Dak's and there is more pressure than ever on him. If he is perceived to "choke" down the stretch or wets the bed, the media is going to go into a feeding frenzy. Nothing like watching an 8-1 Dallas team implode. There are MANY in the media who would love to watch that story play out.

I love Dak, but the moment he struggles I think many will turn on him and want Tony back in there. In a way-- unless Dak wins the SB this year, some people will view this season as failure. IMO-- that's crazy, but such are the expectations and the media swirl around this team.
Rightfully so. When your team has best Oline, best RB, top 5 receiver group, and top 10 scoring defense, you need to at least get to the big game. Dak is under the same scrutiny Romo would be. He doesn't get a pass because he's a rookie. If the brilliance that is Jerry and Jr think they can win a SB with a rookie QB, they deserve all the crap when it goes in the toilet which there's a good chance it will. No excuses.

Do you all REALLY think that if Dak has an awful game or two, Tony Romo isn't going to be re-inserted into the line up?
We're extremely lucky to have back-to-back road games against defenses ranked in the top 5 in passer rating (Vikings and Giants). Those games will paint a clear picture one way or the other.

Oh, I agree. But I didn't hear Jerry or Stephen say, "Even if Dak falters, he will be the starting quarterback."

It's not the things you say; it's the things you don't say.

I wouldn't call that luck exactly. Our schedule isn't getting much easier. Dak will be put to the test and I doubt the organization will sit by and watch HFA in the playoffs be squandered if Romo is looking like his ok self in practice and Dak has hit a wall.

If they tried to interview Dak about this, my answer would be along the lines of...My sources say there is going to be a big shakeup at the NFL network, a few unnamed announcers are on the hot-seat and it's getting ugly, would you like to comment?

You guys realize now why Bill Bilichik treats the media the way who does. They are looking for drama .. spice .. conflict .. story ..

Everything a coach wants to keep away from his locker room .. so he doesn't give them anything .. Garrett doing the same, in a less scale. but media are worse than injuries if you ask me

I do, yes. They decided to make this a rookie's team. And as such, as great as he's been, they need to accept the good and the inevitable and occasional bad. He is going to have off games, and we may very well lose said games. Benching Dak over that would be beyond idiotic. Both in reasoning and in his development.

And as we've learned even with Romo in there over the years, with the defenses we roll out there, if the QB doesn't have a great game, the team probably isn't going to win. Those games were not call to sit Tony, nor are they now with Dak.

TURN OFF THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA (Sports and hard news)!!!

#cutthecord
Yep. I stopped watching all things sports tabloid such as BSPN, NFL Network, and other sports media shows a few years ago because all everyone does is drum up stories that aren't accurate most if not all the time and some of the analysts are truly unbearable to watch let alone hearing them talk.

Look, I understand the need to spice up this story for television, but there IS drama.

Romo did his best to cap it, but he still wants to play. He's a competitor. And even if he's helping Dak succeed, you know he wants to get out there and lead the Cowboys. He even said it.

That IS drama no matter how much you try to put a lid on it. And it will be that way as long as Romo is on the Cowboys roster.

Only if the loss is solely on him and not the team as a whole. The team has to lose all confidence in Dak for Jerry to put Romo back in. Aweful as in 2-3 ints and a qb rating around 50 for 2-3 losses in a row.

Oh it's good luck all right. If we didn't have to face any elite pass defenses the rest of the regular season, we'd be flying blind as we headed into the playoffs, knowing that Prescott's two worst games were against the only top 5 pass defenses he'd faced.

It is a dramatic event no doubt but listening to the guys talk about the situation I think they covered it well. I saw no one saying Dallas did the wrong thing nor did I see them being critical of Romo. Much like the news papers like throwing a eye catching headline the story is not exactly how the headline reads. I think people make way too much of things like this but then it shows that the NFL Network did their job of catching your attention. lol

Interest in the Cowboys is pretty high nowadays, even moreso than usual since we are winning. They can only show so many segments on how the Boys are doing so well. They need more, so they are reaching for whatever fabricated drama they can get (especially since this might appeal to the haters).

Skip Bayless, the self professed Cowboys fan keeps moaning that Dak is one bad game away from getting yanked for Romo even after Romo's concession speech. He knows he has to appeal to the haters as well as the Boy's fans to keep his show going.

Afraid we'll always have to put up with the hate and drama-inducing where there might be none. It's business. As Hostile used to say "Embrace It"
They kill me with that crap. I don't give them my attention or my clicks once I see where they're headed with the story. I'm not the one. Me and Nate Newton are going to enjoy this magical season.:starspin:

I feel some folks need to understand that sticking with Dak, even through rough rookie patches, is about far more than this season. It's about his development. Like it or not, the next (hopefully) 10+ seasons of this being Dak's team are infinitely more important than this one season.
