It's inevitable that Dak will have a bad game. When he does, how he responds to the backlash and leads the team at that point will say a lot about who he is. I think he has demonstrated an amazing quality of leadership to this point-- so I am confident he will bounce back well, but when he stumbles, there will be a lot of people out there saying "I told you he sux!!!"

I agree. I think it's funny that people think Dak has to be perfect. No QB has to be that. As soon as we lose a game some will come calling for his head.

Well said, bloke but I believe St. Romo's presence in Dallas gives the media more incentive to create drama. Without Romo, if Dak stuggles, it's just another QB going through a rough period.
For instance, combat chap, I can't name the struggling Cam Newton's backup. Thus, no controversy.

Back to the post-- I wish it were as simple as you laid out, but the reality is Dak and Romo will always be linked-- even long after Romo is gone. If Tony leaves next year and wins a SB elsewhere-- the media will be questioning the decision to start Dak. For the media-- this is a QB controversy. For the locker room, not so much (to this point).

As for the Panther's backup and why you never hear about him-- he's never been to 4 pro bowls and been the face of one of the most storied franchises in all of sports. Tony is NOT a backup. He is a top 10 QB that has BECOME the backup this year due to being injured for 2 years and the amazing and historic performance of Dak Prescott.

Interest in the Cowboys is pretty high nowadays, even moreso than usual since we are winning. They can only show so many segments on how the Boys are doing so well. They need more, so they are reaching for whatever fabricated drama they can get (especially since this might appeal to the haters).

Skip Bayless, the self professed Cowboys fan keeps moaning that Dak is one bad game away from getting yanked for Romo even after Romo's concession speech. He knows he has to appeal to the haters as well as the Boy's fans to keep his show going.

The networks are trying to create drama so their ratings will increase. No team drives ratings more than the Cowboys so it's not a bad strategy. Hopefully the team will ignore the noise and continue to prepare and play well.
