I do, yes. They decided to make this a rookie's team. And as such, as great as he's been, they need to accept the good and the inevitable and occasional bad. He is going to have off games, and we may very well lose said games. Benching Dak over that would be beyond idiotic. Both in reasoning and in his development.
I'm with you SD and we both saw the other day when Tony conceded the job to Dak and some in the media won't let this go insisting that now from what I'm reading is that the pressure is now on Dak and it's SB or bust. Having said all of that he will have those bad games at times during heck his worst game was the Philly game and he aced the adversity test and lead the team to victory and that showed me all that I needed to know about Dak's mental makeup. Dak is to the Cowboys now in 2016 what Tony was to the Cowboys in 2006 the parallels are eerily similar.

When you are the QB of the Dallas Cowboys you always have pressure. Is there a bit more pressure now? Sure he is no longer being seen as the guy who is holding down the fort until Romo returns. He is the man. Everything I have seen to this point tells me Dak can handle it but make no mistake there is a lot of pressure on him, it comes with the job.

Of course there is still pressure. The point is, at this juncture, they need to be all in on Dak, and still understand they have a rookie leading the team. They can't put a rookie, who is assumed to be the future, in there and not expect and tolerate games where he plays like a rookie. It serves absolutely no benefit to his development to sit him if he sometimes isn't playing like an all-pro.

They kill me with that crap. I don't give them my attention or my clicks once I see where they're headed with the story. I'm not the one. Me and Nate Newton are going to enjoy this magical season.:starspin:
Exactly SB it's like they have a countdown to when the Cowboys will self destruct and I can't tolerate that crap so I don't watch those clowns as some mentioned in this thread already this team exceeded my expectations already with an 8-1 record with a rookie QB, and just last year this same team minus Zeke, and Dak was 4-12 without Tony with the trash they had at QB and some don't even realize how lucky we are that we now have a guy who can ease the transition from Romo when that time comes but sports media is total trash.

I think the team feels that way, media and fans come on. lol..... Hell Romo took heat for a botched hold on a FG vs Seahawks in his 1st year as a starter. I'm not saying it is fair or unfair but Dak as the Cowboys QB will take heat if this team does not advance far into post season and SB at least in some peoples eyes. The question will be if Romo was starting would Dallas have won.

I can promise you I will not be one of those voices but I have followed this team long enough to know it will happen.

I'm sure the team does have that mindset (at least I hope so lol). My point was a counter argument to those who feel Dak as a sneeze away from Tony coming back in.

That I do know it comes with the territory and we both know that those clowns gauge the Cowboys QBs very differently from other QBs and yes Dak can handle it quite well.

I have said many time around here that winning is not just about the QB it is about the team. I agree that Dak will not be in a situation where he will be looking over his shoulder when he makes a mistake or has a bad game and he will have poor games I have never seen a QB not have a bad game. Now having said that should Dallas hit a skid that sees them losing 2 or 3 games in a row and poor play from Dak I would not be shocked at all to see the Cowboys put Romo in. I don't foresee that happening but would never say never.

And as we've learned even with Romo in there over the years, with the defenses we roll out there, if the QB doesn't have a great game, the team probably isn't going to win. Those games were not call to sit Tony, nor are they now with Dak.

Well, I hope you're right. Dak doesn't need Romo looking over his shoulder.

Rightfully so. When your team has best Oline, best RB, top 5 receiver group, and top 10 scoring defense, you need to at least get to the big game. Dak is under the same scrutiny Romo would be. He doesn't get a pass because he's a rookie. If the brilliance that is Jerry and Jr think they can win a SB with a rookie QB, they deserve all the crap when it goes in the toilet which there's a good chance it will. No excuses.

IMO-- we need to temper expectations with some reality. This offseason-- with a healthy Romo in the fold, the bar was set at winning the division and competing in the playoffs. NO ONE-- and I mean NO ONE-- was talking SB run with this D.

The fact that this team has OVER-PERFORMED expectations should be applauded. To suddenly change expectations to SB appearance or bust is not taking into consideration the talent level on this team-- particularly on defense. Hopefully-- they can make a SB run-- but if they win the division and make some noise in the playoffs, this will have 100% been a successful year.

1. It's their job to "find" stories and any story with Cowboys and a possible controversy is always going to get clicks and ratings

2. With Tony's concession speech-- the team is now Dak's and there is more pressure than ever on him. If he is perceived to "choke" down the stretch or wets the bed, the media is going to go into a feeding frenzy. Nothing like watching an 8-1 Dallas team implode. There are MANY in the media who would love to watch that story play out.

I love Dak, but the moment he struggles I think many will turn on him and want Tony back in there. In a way-- unless Dak wins the SB this year, some people will view this season as failure. IMO-- that's crazy, but such are the expectations and the media swirl around this team.

The moment Dak struggles, yes, the Romonians will turn on him, no doubt.

I have to disagree. Once they realized the team was better than they expected, expectations should have been raised. Time to push all the chips into the pot. It's not about planning for next year, that's been the Cowboy way for almost 20 years now.

So will the media. It won't be pretty if he struggles.
That is not cricket, mate!

EVERY QB struggles at one point, even St. Romo has struggled.
Just one more reason to not have the faded diva Romo hanging around the sidelines.
It just puts unneeded pressure on Dak, and, at 8-1, the YOUNG MAN does not need superfluous pressure on him!

It is GREAT to be 8-1................
yeah, but to some it just doesn't feel the same because Tony is not getting his job back!

To me, I'm happy, I'm excited, it's great being a fan of the DALLAS COWBOYS!

Agree, I cannot stand ESPN and now NFL Channel forum is just getting old. It's basically the same characters and their same views on the same teams. They are trying to get cute with a few side stories and it's just boring. The only value I get are the game of week replays which provide some good sideline clips/vocal. Everything else is sleep material. Their worst is Sunday evening with Deion Sanders.
the problem is the agenda, combined with ex players nobody wants to see or listen to.

like the sas guy, if you watch 3 of his shows, after that they are all the same thing,
Some of the ex players, should not be analysts.
