Nice Win, but about Brandon Carr

Dude has been complete trash since we signed him, but there are posters here that want to deny that, and ignore the fact he tries to tackle the shoes, which is why Murray hurdled him twice.

Dude sucks. It has nothing to do with pass rush. He sucks.

Cue the excuses.

Maybe I'm missing something but what did Carr or Brown do to be singled out? I thought they played fine especially with a inconsistent rush.

Week after week you guys sit here and complain about the yards we give up after we win? You guys complain about yards but this team isn't trying to shut anyone out or be doomsday. They are simply trying to play good enough to allow the offense to win. Sure, it wasn't pretty but I'm not complaining about a 15 point showing for this defense. I just can't.
Every damn team gives up points...meaning cornerbacks get burned. Even Seattle is giving up an avg of 17 points per game...Dallas about 19 after tonight. I personally think the play of the secondary is much improved...as evidenced by it's red-zone performance in the last two games. Hard to stop a quarterback that is dumping the ball off in 2.5 seconds on average.. 15 points on a night where the offense lost the time of possession by seven minutes and gave Minnesota the ball in the redzone (leading to a FG)...you have to take it and move on.

15 points on the road.
It was no thanks to our defense. Their offense sucked. Don't be stupid. Carr sucks.

I think our secondary has been surprisingly good. Mo was playing at an elite level before being hurt, Brown is playing very well for a rookie, and Carr and Scandrick are solid vets. Not to mention, we finally found our FS in Jones and people are starting to see that Church is better at SS than anything else we've trotted out there in recent years. The biggest issue is the front 7. Our pass rush is beyond pitiful. We've actually been solid against the run since inserting Collins into the starting lineup (#3 in the league in rushing yards). The biggest issue is that Lee is the only real playmaker we have at LBer and QBs have all day to throw because the pass rush is nonexistent. Hopefully the LBer position can fix itself next year with a healthy Smith and another year of experience for Wilson and Hitchens. But the D-line needs a lot of work, mostly at DE. We need 2-3 starting caliber DEs next year. We can't rely on unproven young guys like Tapper to recover from injury and Gregory to recover from whatever he's going through.

Carr is just too slow, he best thing about him is he plays deep enough off that he rarely gives up a big play but he also rarely if ever makes any plays.

We were saved by the Vikings' craptastic offense.

So our defense gets no credit for any of it? How bad people say they are, Vikings should have been able to score at will, right?

I don't get it. Defense gets no credit for holding an opponent down, it's just that offense sucks. I.e. Bengals, Packers, Vikings, Bears. They just take all the blame. Makes zero sense. And the excuse is if we were playing a better offense, we lose. Just stop.

Carr is who we thought he was.

After all these years he isn't going to change.

The thing is I don't care about Tappers or Smiths ability, because teams who have depth at those positions can take a chance on those guys ... we needed help this year on defence...
There is no way this team could have thought about going to the Super Bowl before the draft this year.

Besides, that isn't how winning teams run their draft. You build for the future not today.

Not to mention the fact we didn't know about Tapper and his situation until well AFTER the draft.

Carr is probably gone next year so we need to replace him. Also I would keep MO for more the 4 mil a year. Need cbs lbs and des next offseason.

Wow some yoyo's out tonight ripping Carr and the defense. They gave up 15 pts and really if Dak doesn't fumble and gets the first down, most likely Minny scores only 6. Wow how spoiled we have become in a year with wins and criticism. Enjoy the win we are 11-1

Carr holds quite a bit of cards here. We cuss and fuss about him but he is out there in every game. As long as our secondary keeps getting injured and missing several games a year, his job is pretty secure. He has played well enough this season and he isn't close to the bottom for corners.

The fact that Dak had a 100+ passer rating tonight proves just how irrelevant and useless the passer rating stat is.

12/18 - 139yds - 1 TD

Dak wasn't awful tonight, but he definitely wasn't great. Below average game for the whole offense really. Dak's best plays came from running which isn't even taken into account in the passer rating. I just don't think the passer rating stat actually reflects a QB's performance alot of the time. That's my opinion anyway

It's a rating, not a cumulative stat. It's only "irrelevant and useless" if you don't know what it is.

18 throws. double that to 36(we get like 31 passes per game on avg) and that's 278 yards. most of our good drives got killed by penalties. the vikings ran way more plays than us. the fact we won with less than 300 yards tells you how bad the vikings are.

You hit it right on the head, 15 points on the road to a desperate team, I will take that every time. Penalties and turnovers at the wrong time is what caused this team to stall tonight.

Where did I imply that it's a cumulative stat? I know exactly what it is, which is why I disregard it. It doesn't take into account various factors like rushing yards and fumbles. If you count Dak's fumble as an interception, all of a sudden his rating is 85. Just goes to show that it often doesn't accurately reflect a QB's performance.

We have to do something about him. Dude is complete trash.

I fear if we face Washington or Falcons in the playoffs, we are doomed, mainly because of the D, and he is a big part of it.
he is bad at zone but fairly good at man, and tonite it was all zone.

Vikings have given up the fourth fewest points in the league, that's with having played 12 games to the other 3 teams 11 games.
