Maybe it was for cap reasons....

When they cut him at the end of training camp, no salary needed for the season!

Good pickup.

I'm not worried about Hos... It's the kicker I'm worried about.... he's from Arizona.

Can someone verify that this kicker is still alive?

I saw him a few times in Arizona he's got a good leg but accuracy is a question mark. He's better then Crosby but I don't know if we should have drafted him here.

You all will be thrilled. Kickers are a necessary evil. They are VERY important in the day of parity. How many games every year are decided by 3 points or less? Face it people.....we NEED a good kicker.

According to Ourlands, "Has excellent leg strength to put the ball in the end zone on kickoffs . . . . "

Maybe Automatica does FGs and Folk is used for kickoffs?

Don't know . . . . confusing 2nd day.

This draft is OK. I love Spencer, but the kicker has me scratching my head.
Again, the 2 1st round picks we have next year is just gravy, and if the Browns suck next year it will be sooo, sooo, sooo, sweet.

I was gonna say... didn't you predict this? Was this the guy you said had a booming leg and could be an option?
Yes, and I contacted the team about him.

It's a good thing we drafted this Folk guy.

He was on every teams radar in the 6th round and his leg is just awesome!

Anybody want some koolaid?

11 of 27 over 40 yards dont instill a lot of faith in his ability to win one of those 3 point games.

Yeah but what is his 40 time?

40 times are over rated. You gotta watch film to see if he plays fast in pads.

A better question might be: Does he get in front of defenders when a kick is blocked and the holder is running with it?

Big, muscular guy for a kicker...

Nick Folk boots a game-winning 48-yard field goal with one second remaining to send the Wildcats to a home-opening 16-13 win against Brigham Young. The senior kicker made three of four field goals on the day and also took over punting duties midway through the game.

Added UA head coach Mike Stoops: "Nick Folk, I believe he's the best kicker in America. The distance wasn't going to be a factor."

key statement there was "the guy I wanted"

Obviously not the guy Dallas wanted.

Simply put, we have no roster spots for these guys. Anyone we take here is going to have a hard time earning a roster spot. When your filling out a roster these are the types of picks you going to see.

just for debate purposes, where does HB Blades fit in on our roster? Does he replace Barnett, Ellis, Carpenter, Ware, Akin, James or Spencer. Were just as likely to find the next Vinateri as we are the next Zach Thomas

Were there any guys YOU wanted in this draft?
I mean, we are allowed to have opinions.
As far as where would he fit? How about at least challenging some of the bottom end of our LB pool to make it better?
Is this guy going to challenge Gramatica and make him better?
Doubt it. Unless we know something about Gramatica and this guy.
