Big, muscular guy for a kicker...

Nick Folk boots a game-winning 48-yard field goal with one second remaining to send the Wildcats to a home-opening 16-13 win against Brigham Young. The senior kicker made three of four field goals on the day and also took over punting duties midway through the game.

Added UA head coach Mike Stoops: "Nick Folk, I believe he's the best kicker in America. The distance wasn't going to be a factor."

Yep a 2nd punt. Look at the distance.

4th and 12 at UA 10, Nicholas Folk punt for 50 yards, returned by Nathan Meikle for 8 yards to the BYU 48.

A 3rd punt. 3 punts, average of 60 yards.

4th and 12 at BYU 31, Nicholas Folk 48 yard field goal GOOD. 13-16 Nicholas Folk kickoff for 20 yards returned by Corby Hodgkiss for 6 yards to the Ariz 49.

Squib kick after a 48 yard FG that cleared the cross bar by 20 feet. It would have been good from beyond 60 yards. There was 6 seconds left on the clock in a 13-13 tie. So he hit that kick under pressure.




My synopsis...

3 for 3 on FGs. One under pressure from way out. 1 for 1 on PATs.

3 touchbacks out of 5 kickoffs, plus a kickoff into the endoze returned only to the 19.

3 punts, 60 yard average.

I have no problem with taking a kicker, but why not Mason Crosby? Dallas isn't the only team that took another kicker in front of him. Did he test positive for marijuana or something or does he have any character issues?
