No Greg Hardy ruling yet, too many days later

This is ridiculous! I understand how delicate the situation is, but its not fair to anyone involved for this decision to take as long as it has.. except the NFL themselves.

I know the Jones have to tread lightly on this subject, but I would raise hell if the NFL takes this long and doesn't reduce the suspension.

As far as Hardy, I'd already have my Lawyer preparing a case against the NFL as soon as I could no matter the final outcome. Just because the NFL failed on the obvious beating of Ray Rice's girlfriend decision.. Shouldn't give the NFL the right to punish Hardy, exp since he was cleared of any wrong doing.

please don't tell me that the NFL dosent purposely go out of their way to drag Dallas's name in the mud every chance they get... I'm tired of it and wish the Jones would grow a Texas size set and blast them for this.

Have you seen anyone who is not a Cowboys fan who thought 10 games was too much or that the appeal is taking too long? I have no doubt they'll use it against Goodell if they think they can, but Hardy isn't winning anyone's sympathy.

You just made his point. Outside our own base, most fans hate the Cowboys. Imagine that?

I've seen a lot of conclusions here that are entirely off base.

The reason why Henderson hasn't ruled is because he isn't a neutral arbitrator, and he is in lock step with the league.

He was supposed to have a ruling on Peterson months ago, we've still yet to see that, but you're asking where the decision on Hardy is?

Someone has to force the NFL's hand, and that is why the august 13th deadline is the only thing that matters.

Either a) the nfl acts before then and complies with Doty's directions or b) they wait it out and are found in contempt.

As to the motivations behind the NFL's decision here, I don't think anyone knows or can accurately speculate or predict their next move.

It would be nice to know when the 8th circuit will hear the appeal.

Tyranny,,, it's all around us and growing.

I expect a ruling today, which is Day 22.

And I think Jarv's post was spot on, too.

Yea seems like they try to throw news in on Friday that's controversial so it dies some over the weekend so hopefully this is the case

Maybe ...just maybe ...(although I doubt it )
Maybe Hendersons decision is a drastic reduction and he has informed Goodell and is somehow in discussion with Goodell behind closed doors trying to help Goodell save face.
Again I doubt it but you never know

Huh?

Peterson's appeal was heard in December of last year and within two weeks, Henderson denied his appeal and that's how it ended up in Judge Doty's lap.

That's the comparison here to Hardy. Rice and Peterson both got responses to their league appeals in less time than Hardy has taken.

Doty ordered Henderson to rearbitrate the Peterson appeal according to the CBA. This was months ago.

The league reinstated Peterson. There's Henderson's ruling.

The only thing left is a lawsuit I believe to be heard in the 8th District Court starting in October where the NFL is trying to preserve their rights under the CBA claiming Doty usurped Goodell's authority.

Wrong.

The league reinstated Peterson, but made no ruling on the suspension, which took 6 games from Peterson in 2014.

There is also a contempt hearing on the 13th of August that the NFL is almost certainly going to lose.

You aren't very good at this.

You might very well be the worst poster on this board....

The Players Union sought a decision by Doty that Henderson was a partial arbitrator, and the court did not rule on that at this time.

Goodell isn't getting JAIL time in a civil contempt motion. Doty also has no power to suspend Goodell.

Actually, Galian, a contempt matter does carry potential jail time. It happens a lot more than people realize in civil cases.

Trust the person with the user name "Verdict". :)

In any case (no pun intended), I think it's doubtful that Goodell receives jail time even if it is possible, given his social status and all that.

I never said that there was never jail time in civil cases, but those cases are of a very different nature than this. Context matters.

So rumors have been flying from all kinds of media members for weeks that the suspension will be upheld, yet still nothing. Nothing shady going on here.

Is Hardy getting a chance to plea his case in front of the Comish or is that reserved only to superstar QB's? Is domestic violence a bigger no-no that messing with the integrity of the game?

He's already had his appeal heard and it was presented to Henderson, not Goodell. We're just waiting on the ruling from that appeal. If Hardy is not satisfied with the appeal ruling he can (and likely will) take the NFL to court.

Well said and true.
