No hate on Dak, but what does he do better than Rush?

You are literally trying to elevate a Jason Garrett over a Troy Aikman.

This is what is so funny.

'What does Dak do better than Rush?'

*Shows stats that prove it's just about everything*

'Stats don't matter.'

Would you guys just come out with it and say you prefer the way Rush looks? Because basically every available metric on QB play proves that Dak does many, many things better than Rush.

That doesn't mean he's the better QB for our team. It's completely possible that having a system QB is better than a star QB. But we don't need to bend reality to justify that

If we are really going to compare them, we need to see Cooper in a game where he has to throw it 40-50 times to keep up.

Can he? I love what he's doing, but we can't know that yet.

Last season vs. MINN Rush stats:

24 of 40 325 yards 60% Comp % 2 td's 1 int Dallas won 20-16 (Rush threw a game winning td with 51 seconds remaining where Rush went 7 of 10 starting from the Dallas 25 yard line)

To be fair, that's what gets us unto trouble with Dak. We should also be running more with Dak as well.

Dak's record when he throws 40+ times:

2016: 0-1

2017: 0-1

2018: 2-0

2019: 1-6

2020: 1-2

2021: 2-3

2022: 0-0

Combined for career with 40+ passes: 6-13

So let's hope Rush doesn't throw for 40+ a game as while that may look good for personal stats and earn him a big contract (Dak's formula?) it doesn't lead to team success.

Individual stats would "show" that Kirk Cousins is a better quarterback than Dan Marino.

I'm not comparing Rush witn Marino but making the pertinent point that individual stats do not reveal the full story.

Rush was the QB of the Cowboys when they beat the Vikings without 100 yards rushing from a running ball. How many times has Prescott achieved that lately? This is important and should not be overlooked.

Rush made 4th quarter game winning drives against the Vikings and the Bengals - last season's Superbowl runners up. He then orchastrated two lovely drives against the Giants with a better side than they have had for several years for back to back touchdowns with the team trailing 13-6 in the second half.

In terms of team stats the Cowboys are 3-0 with Rush as QB whilst Prescott is 6-6 during the same period with the same roster. Turn your mind back to 2015 when the Cowboys started 2-0 with Romo then went 0-8 without him.

Conversely, the team is 7-7 without Prescott since 2016 with backup/practice squad quality quarterbacks and would have a winning record had Dalton not had to play with a decimated offensive line. Either the team is very good, Prescott isn't actually that important and is not a difference maker or all of the above.

Either way, this has been a dreadful couple of weeks for Prescott, yes Dak Prescott earning an average of $40 millions a year whilst a practice squad QB is making plays and winning games - only earning circa $1 million for the season.

...and how did he do against SF in the playoffs?
He floppedjust like the rest of the team. How many of those 14 penalties did dak commit? Im ok if Rush continues like this to leave him in but its not going to happen. We have played nobody thus far The win against the bengal who now appear to be the bungles again mean very little and of course we dont count the giants because well theyre the Giants.

I have that on good authority from all the experts in here

Well with that mindset then discount Dak's 9-2 career record against the NYG and that adjusts his career win/loss record to 44-31. Furthermore, if we go down that road then take out his 25-6 career record against the NFC East and Dak's career record then changes to 28-27.

Not sure the point of denouncing the Rush victories over CINN and NYG when Dak has beaten so-called weak opponents as well.

Would love to hear what our fans think, logically.

Better pure passer? No
Better at reading defense? No
Better runner? Sure maybe
More decisive? No
More expensive? Yes

I thought this was going to be something different, had to read the entire thing lol agree totally

We see what Dak is doing with that many throws, yet they're saying WE SHOULDN'T have him throwing that many times!!

Clearly we are better when we run the ball. I just want to know if and when the time comes can Rush keep pace?

Dak is no longer a better runner. That used to be his advantage. But he doesn't run anymore. Rush just runs this offense better than Dak. Takes his shots downfield and opens up the defense to make it easier to run. Defenses can't put 8 in the box.

I hate seeing Dak run he's slow etc etc, I've seen older QBs look better
