This is what is so funny.
'What does Dak do better than Rush?'
*Shows stats that prove it's just about everything*
'Stats don't matter.'
Would you guys just come out with it and say you prefer the way Rush looks? Because basically every available metric on QB play proves that Dak does many, many things better than Rush.
That doesn't mean he's the better QB for our team. It's completely possible that having a system QB is better than a star QB. But we don't need to bend reality to justify that
Individual stats would "show" that Kirk Cousins is a better quarterback than Dan Marino.
I'm not comparing Rush witn Marino but making the pertinent point that individual stats do not reveal the full story.
Rush was the QB of the Cowboys when they beat the Vikings without 100 yards rushing from a running ball. How many times has Prescott achieved that lately? This is important and should not be overlooked.
Rush made 4th quarter game winning drives against the Vikings and the Bengals - last season's Superbowl runners up. He then orchastrated two lovely drives against the Giants with a better side than they have had for several years for back to back touchdowns with the team trailing 13-6 in the second half.
In terms of team stats the Cowboys are 3-0 with Rush as QB whilst Prescott is 6-6 during the same period with the same roster. Turn your mind back to 2015 when the Cowboys started 2-0 with Romo then went 0-8 without him.
Conversely, the team is 7-7 without Prescott since 2016 with backup/practice squad quality quarterbacks and would have a winning record had Dalton not had to play with a decimated offensive line. Either the team is very good, Prescott isn't actually that important and is not a difference maker or all of the above.
Either way, this has been a dreadful couple of weeks for Prescott, yes Dak Prescott earning an average of $40 millions a year whilst a practice squad QB is making plays and winning games - only earning circa $1 million for the season.
