No, Not Brad Johnson !!!

Johnson can't throw the ball 30yrds without floating it. He can't throw the 20yrd out on a rope anymore. His arm is extremely weak...

WEAK.....we don't want this scrap heap guy.

No, he's not. Arm and mobility don't exist at this point. Think again.
Have you ever SEEN Herrington or Ramsey play?

Goodness. Are you their agent? Or maybe their mother? (or just a troll?)

I can't imagine what you see in them that gives you any confidence in them at all.

Be honest, did you buy their FATHEADs? Are they hanging on your wall?

I see. So if Romo goes down in week 2 with a season ending injury, your okay with whoever we get??? Your theory is fine so long as the back up doesn't play for an extended period. However, in many cases the back up is forced to become da man. Brad Johnson is not the guy we would want in that situation.

With who is left you would get about the same production from Brad as you would Ramsey and or Harrington.

The difference is you would get a player with a good head on his shoulders.

Nobody that we hire as a backup QB will be a great player that will take us to the promised land if Romo goes down in week two.

THAT is the point.

Geez you guys act like have to get a starter when we are looking for a backup and the funniest thing about it is he, Brad, is probably the best starter out of those three even with his week arm and age.

Johnson fits the bill as cagey ol' vet with ability to do well for at least a few games with a decent team around him.

Harrington is really the first Jason Garrett call. If JG, who has coached Harrington, is in favor of it, then the Cowboys should look that way. If he advises against it, stay away. Time for Garrett to step up to the coaching hot seat......

Brad Johnson is the type of guy who can go in and win you a few games if you need it. This guy is a bus driver.

We'll agree to disagree ole buddy. Johnson would have been fine about 5 years ago. He's done now. Might as well bring back Vinny if you are comfortable with that route. LOL.
Harrington, Carr, maybe Couch...at least these guys don't have age 40 staring them down. LOL

Yes they are not going on 40...but then again they were never as good as Brad in the first place.

Stronger arms maybe, but that would be about it.

Fair enough friend. However, something tells me now that BP is gone, JJ is pulling all the strings. Heck, he's the one who brought in JG in the first place, before Wade was even hired.
The thought of JJ calling all the shots should scare all of us.

I liked Brad Johnson...about 10 years ago during his first stint with the Vikes. However if he can't throw the ball anymore, then why the heck would we want him? A good head on his shoulders, but unable to throw the ball 20 yards???? Sounds like just the guy we want. LOL.

"Can't throw the ball 20 yards?"

You and philo certainly take exaggeration to a whole new level. How the heck did a guy who couldn't throw 20 yards last season amass over 2,700 yards passing?

I think most around here get my point. BJ would be a mistake.

Oh he can throw the ball further than 20 yards...his arm may not be what it once was but he did not get it amputated in the offseason either.

On a serious note...I would be ok with Brad, Joey or patrick.

They are what they are, backup QBs and if Romo goes down early in the season it will not make much difference as we would probably be doomed anyways.

Looking to start a fight yet again guy? Sorry you can't comprehend the thought of keeping it civil around here. :lmao2:

Okay fair enough. I'm done with this post, seems like we have a few clowns jumping in on it only to hurl insults.

I think that most get the point that you (and philo) are looking for the team to sign someone who will come in and unseat Romo. That's not going to happen. Realistically, the team will attempt to find someone who will, instead, backup Romo. Someone who has the ability to step in, and in a very short time of acclimating himself with our offensive gamebook, will be a surer option of directing the offense in Romo's absence if the need arises. While Ramsey and Harrington have more athletic ability, neither has been able to demonstrate the capacity of playing the role of a capable backup. On the other hand, Johnson has.
