The so called "real fans" here never run out of excuses for the Cowboys when they under perform.

and the other side of the so called "real fans" don't even know why they hate.

they just do.

one of the haters told me every time romo was sacked could have been a running play instead.

we dealing with logic here, or just an angry/frustrated "real fan"?

we could get out here and whine and moan with you, but why? while it's venting, it doesn't change anything and it's certainly not offering up excuses to say things like "we got beat, green bay played a damn good game".

what about THOSE real fans?

i'll never understand why "the simple minded" have to put everything into one side or another and think that's really the way it works.

you guys that KEEP saying the hands to the face was the correct call are unreal to me. This is football....NO team has a 3rd and 23 play they can run

Exactly, and in knowing this, JUST COVER YOUR GUY!. They need 23 yrds not 3 yrds. Jenkins hand was on the guys facemask, period. It's going to get called.

Why when a team needs 5 yrds, our guys play 15 yrds off the guy, yet, when the opposing team needs 23 yrds on THIRD DOWN, they are playing close?

Huh?

The team played poorly. That's a given. Should the officiating be questioned? Absolutely, but the bad calls do not outweigh how often the team shot itself in the foot yesterday.

However, I would like for anyone to defend the referees for the following:
  • Felix Jones fell on the loose ball.
  • His body was laying flat nearly face down.
  • A Green Bay defender fell on top of him.
  • The defender reached underneath Jones and grabbed part of the football.
  • The defender proceeded to pull and twist the football from Jones' grasp. This is evidenced by Jones' body turning completely 180 degree face up.
  • At this point, the football was wrestled completely out of Jones' grip.
The referees stated that all of the above constitued a fumble as defined by football rules and regulations. The consequence of their ruling gave the ball to the Packers deep in the red zone.

Does anyone (literally) agree with their decision? Yes, I fully understand the wording of my first paragraph.

not at all. to me that was one of the worst calls of the year and i was screaming for it right when it happened. but what i don't know is how the rule for a fumble must be interpreted.

on the surface i'd say the refs blew that call big time and it hurt.

we called for press to allow the blitz to get there...and I doubt very seriously that is called every time in the NFL...again, go back and look at it...it was very borderline...and even moreso in light of the down and distance. I would not want Dallas to get that, so I certainly don't want it to go against us

Holding happens on EVERY play in the NFL...do you think it is called? The refs KNOW the down and distance before a play is run...I am not so sure it was hands to the face...and if it was, it certainly did not violate the spirit of the rule. Heck for all we know WRs could try to dip their heads when they get jammed on 3rd down to force that to be called. That was way to ticky tack in that situation. Maybe on first down you give a team 5 yards....but to award 23 UNEARNED on 3rd down in just pitiful!
Could be the ref had already told Jenkins to watch the hands to the face.

again...I wish someone would post a gif of that...because I have a hard time believing what Jenkins did and is how the NFL wants the rule applied. Again, there is holding on EVERY play in the NFL...it is not called on every play for a REASON!

The Cowboys played like crap last night. It is very simple. I have read several threads were people are crying about the officiating. Those same people never admit when we get the breaks. The cowboys played crappy football in all three areas. Time of possession is what killed us in the end.

I do not blame Tony. He did what he could. Other teams overcome injuries and we should be able to also. I have been hard on the RW bashers, but it is time to make him a #3 for a couple of games. He will fold or step up. Best we know for sure what we have before the real challenges in make or break games come up.

Still a believer but very disappointed this morning. This was the worst game we have played in a long time.

I agree for the most part HOWEVER if I was a seattle Seahawk fan in the 05 superbowl I would be pointing fingers at the refs.. so yes you can point fingers some times.. fact is teams to get screwed by bad calls. it does happen believe it or not.. Fans can complain.. players should not.. big difference.

Here's the thing though:

I have both heard and read where an argument could be made that the referees lost track of the ball and this accounted for the bad call. So, basically, those who make this argument are saying that...

WHEN the referees saw the football exited from Felix Jones grasp (remember: they ruled that Jones fumbled the football), they also saw a Green Bay defender on top of him. In effect, they determined that Jones fumbled the ball while his entire body was rolling on the ground and a member of the defense was touching him.

I have watched a lot of football for 35 years... JV, high school, college, pro. I have even played some football. There is one thing I can say with absolute certainty.

I have never witnessed any referee or group of referees--great, good, decent and/or bad--make such a determination about a fumble. It completely blows my mind.

Or on 3rd and 23 maybe he should not have hit his head. What do you think? It was a garbage call in my opinion, but our player is still the one that made this mistake. If he had jammed him as he was taught instead of letting his hands slide up hitting him in the head, it would not even be discussed right now.

Another horrible call, but it would not have mattered. Too little too late. We did not change up on offense. We did not adjust. There are many things we could have done throughout the game but we didn't. The better prepared and better motivated team won yesterday. If we had taken advantage of all the penalties and mistakes GB racked up none of this discussion would matter.

Never said the officiating didn't suck. I agree it did... on both sides. But players win or loose the games. I just hate excuses and pansy fans that want to cry about the zebras. It doesn't matter what the they do. What matters is how we execute. Yesterday we played like a ****ty team. No other way to say it.

Agreed. But you can't say there was no advantage on a particular score due to poor officiating.

But you are right, We played like garbage. And even without the TD they got because of it, we still would have lost.

In the end, we are still in first place.

Hope we trounce the skins next week and take our frustrations out on them.

The call was wrong plain and simple. We all saw it on TV for our own eyes, but due to a technicality in the rules we are forced to deal with it?

No "real" fan? What on earth are you talking about. Any NORMAL person wants a fair game.

As of now im down with the NFL there is no point in watching. It has no sense of team, its filled with felons, and whats the point of watching if the game isnt even based on a set of rules?

This was the most absurd post. Keep trying to convince yourselves its okay. Its not that hard to let any play be challenged.

The fumble call was incorrect anyone who wishes to disagree is flat wrong and I have the video to back it up. Whats your case? Oh just let it go.

Just like the Oakland Game, just like the Charger Game, just like the Steeler game, just like the ravens game.. Whats the point in watching anymore?

So you can say YOUR team won? What did they win? An unfair sport with absolutely no regard to what is fair but what is written down in some book somewhere?

Frankly I dont care. Ill pass on watching its no longer interesting. Enjoy your "team" filled with players who will not even be there next year or where there last year.

NFL = Garbage.

No advantage?
The hands to the face was terrible and stole 7 instant points from us.
felix recovered the football which gave them a first and goal, thats 14 total points the refs gave them.GB was supposed to win.

My point was that you CAN'T say there was no advantage on the TD where Felix recovered the ball. There was.

But we just played like crap either way.

GB season was on the line and the NFL home office seems to have sent a clear message to the refs. Make sure GB wins...the officials were terrible in this game....reminded me of the Pittsburgh vs Seattle superbowl where all the calls were obviously against one team.

Games like this make me think the league is fixed.
