No Soup for Ware! Harrison wins DPOY

It's all about media hype. Harrison was being hyped long before Ware's potentially record-breaking hype came along. And then of course, when the cameras were turned on him, the team came up small.

That's not particularly true. If anything, as much as the Cowboys are on national tv, this should have been a landslide for Ware.

I'd be shocked if half of the people voting knew Ware was even close to breaking the record.

The team may have been on TV, but they weren't talking about Ware breaking the sack record. That didn't occur until towards the end of the season. Prior to that all I read about was James Harrison and Albert Haynesworth.

Why will Ware care about DPOY when his only working for HOF..... ;)

Ware had an incredible year and would have been well deserving as well, but the only thing Ware topped him in was sacks. Harrison had more tackles, more forced fumbles, more passes defensed, and had an INT. I think he was the better all around performer this year, and did it in one less game than Ware (Harrison didn't dress Week 17).

Harrison didn't do it in less games, because nobody on the cowboys entire team dressed for week 17. Da dum ching. :laugh2:

I can't argue with the choice... Dallas should have played better as a team and Ware would have won hands down.

Ware had 10 more solo tackles (69 to 59), four more sacks (20 to 16), more than twice as many "stuffs" (7.5 to 3.0) and more fumble recoveries (1 to 0). Harrison had one more forced fumble (7 to 6), one more PD (3 to 2) and one more INT (1 to 0).

The east coast guys will always have a leg up on the others in media voting.

I had a feeling this would be the result. I don't agree with it, but I didn't last year with Bob Sanders either. So what else is new?

Yep Ware is more deserving than Harrison what a load. Now Reed, Reed deserves it more than Harrison thats laughable. Reed is having a HOF type season.

I'm not surprised he didn't win. Being in the playoffs holds a high premium for people voting on these things. The moment we missed the playoffs that dashed any hope that Ware had for winning the award.

I really did think, however, that it would be Ed Reed who won it and I believe he was more deserving than Harrison.

Congratulations to Harrison! He was a leader on a team where defense made the difference throughout the season.

There's NO WAY Harrison deserves DPOY over either Reed or Ware. As for leadership all 3 are leaders on their teams.

Guys,
I know everyone is dissapointed that Ware didnt win.
I honestly thought Ed Reed should have won. He had an amazing year, led the league in interceptions, he won a couple of games all by himself.

I definitely could have lived with Reed.

But Harrison....he plays the SAME position as Ware and did not perform as well. It's not like the AP morons had to compare apples to oranges and decide whether 9 game-changing interceptions were more impressive than 20 game changing sacks and 6 game-changing forced fumbles. They were comparing the same things and Ware was superior.

Inexcusable.

Ware likely doesn't get it because he was a virtual no-show in the Eagles game, and the Cowboys didn't make the playoffs.

I think had the Cowboys made the playoffs, the award would have been Ware's hands down.
